Lava the Boat Cat Rides Again

I spent hundreds reviving the old Evinrude 4... so last week when Lava the cat and I found ourselves with time to kill by a beautiful but frigid lake in Montana.. we decided... no, I decided to take the zodiac (Fletcher) for a spin... As Lava has a new FFD, I took him along to field test the thing in the 38 degree water... i brought along one of my cameras... here's the video.

Thanks for the suggestion. :) We're sailing from Maine to Virginia in two weeks... I'm sure I'll get some good footage as he's an integral part of the crew. Lemme know what you think.

I love it. My cat suffers from motion sickness so there is no way I could get her to do something like that.

It was just an update video which showed him in his new life preserver... I know it wasn't the new Star Trek.... having said that.. tell your boyfriend that there are more videos of him online where Lava is more entertaining.

Elvira, my other cat, is at home right now because last year she got too sick at sea... I thought she was going to die.. never seen mal de mar in a felis catis so serious before... That was one of the reasons I turned back to Portland even though I was half way to Boston last year.... Lava, on the other hand, was raised in the truck and on three different boats... and although he gets sick the first day out, he quickly gets his sea paws and seems to enjoy life more than on the hard.

This is the coolest damn cat who ever lived. I really am not a fan of cats, but I'd love to have a cat like Lava.

I think he liked the taste.. but it would have killed him if he kept doing it. Once I broke him of the desire to do it, I never saw him do it again.. although he would lounge on the dinghy, probably because it was nice and warm.

I'd push him over the side from time to time in a drill of sorts... it was to help him practice what to do if he fell overboard when I wasn't around. He wound swim around the boat and climb up the swim ladder at the stern... then promptly run down below and soak my bed while he preened himself.

Your cat is so great..makes me miss my cats. At first I thought you were being cruel to the poor cat, but after watching the videos, it is just cool. Love the way Lava pops up and take a good look around. Checking everything out.

Now as for being cruel to cats..this guy might be the biggest asshole in the world...but it makes me laugh so hard.

If you put a lava lamp on a burner, and turn the burner on.....the liquid in the lamp boils and bubbles then the glass explodes or something. one dude got a shard through his heart and died. who the fuck stands over a lava lamp that's been sitting on the stove for a long time?:thumbdown:
