I try to go out of my way to do at least one good deed per day. I'm not trying to absolved for some bad shit i've done, but I've always thought that if i can do one good deed and help somebody, maybe then that person will help somebody else, etc. Kind of like that Liberty Mutual commercial, I guess.

Anywhoo, I'm at the mall yesterday, and decided to grab some lunch while i was there.
As im sitting there stuffing my face, i noticed this woman, her mom, and her daughter (probably 3yrs, maybe). The mother goes and sits down, and the mom and daughter are at the counter. So I look away and keep eating. Minute or 2 later, I look up, and the mom is still at the counter, but I notice the daughter is not there. My eyes scan and look around, but I didnt see the little girl. The mom notices her daughter is not there, and calls over to her mother to see if she was there. She was not. The mom starts to panic, and walks around looking for her.

At this point, I stand up and start looking, too. I noticed the girl, maybe 100+ feet on the other side of the food court just walking around. I called for the mom, and pointed over there towards the little girl. The mom runs over there and starts yelling at her (in spanish).

I never got a thank you, nor an aknowledgement. I wasnt looking for one, either. Just personal satisfaction knowing I helped somebody is enough.

Sorry for the long-winded story. Its much faster when i tell it in person.

I'm with ya buddy.. before I moved to NJ there was always this homeless guy around the supermarket i would go to in Staten Island. Everytime I would see him I would pick him up something to eat and drink when I went inside. I would give this guy a big hero sandwiches, bagels, coffee, snapples, water...just enough so this guy had something on him.. The poor guy could hardly talk, but I could see he appreciated it.

Last week, hand to god, I literally returned a cell phone. I think that should count for a couple weeks worth of good deeds.

I (actually Rhino) lost my son at the mall one afternoon. A man said he saw a blond haired kid down the corridor at the coin vending cars....We ran down there and sure enough, Burkely was there. Anyhow....I was so worried about Burkely that I forgot to Thank the guy. So maybe those women really were thankful, but just overwhelmed they forget to say it. I know I am grateful to that man who helped us.

Or maybe they were just really bitchy and couldn't believe YOU didn't offer to watch the kid while they were getting their lunch.

Your wife is a lucky lady.
