I am talking about an XM specific App. I don't have a sling box.

Hopefully soon....

Here is a story about the official app [iPhone App Story via Orbitcast (http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/official-sirius-xm-iphone-app-now-in-beta-source.html)

There is also a way to get it using a different app....but it costs $10. The official app will be free (whenever it actually comes out). [PockeTunes Story via Orbitcast (http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/satellite-radio-on-the-iphone-now-a-reality-with-pocket-tunes.html)

In looking at it looks like you need XM online which I don't have but could get.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention.

Pocket tunes indeed works fine. You can also do it using Orb, but that requires you to have a computer running at home (or wherever).

Do you need XM online to run Pocket tunes?

Yeah.

If you just have a regular XM subscription, you can get a 32k feed for free through Pocket Tunes. For the full 128k feed you have to have the full xm online sub.

What is the difference between Feeds?

Sorry for all the questions....

I have 2 subs, 1 at work and one in my car. I got rid of the online feed because my work blocked it off. I could however get it back and cancel the work Sub as I would just use my phone.

The difference is sound quality. 32k is quite honestly just above AM-radio quality, while 128k is between FM and CD quality. I'd definitely suggest in your case to cancel your second sub, and add the online for $2.99/month.

the iphone is the death of satellite radio. once the technology you're looking for becomes cheaper, sending satellites up into the sky will be obsolete. they will just start streaming over the web and you can get it over wifi. this is why xm/sirius is going bankrupt

I gotta agree with this. There are so many music apps that outside of 202 material I don't even listen to satellite. Simplify Media allows me to listen to any music stored on any of my computers (and up to 30 friends), Pandora/Last.FM/Slacker lets me set up my own "stations", and there's so many other streaming apps of all genres of music. There's even an app that gathers all of the mp3's on music-oriented blogs.

Simplify alone more than meets my needs, especially with the update that will play my bootleg concert FLAC files.
