Cootie Catcher

Girls in my school used to make these things and I never could figure out how they folded it.
Now I know. I do not recall them being called anything, but I guess cootie catcher is apropos.

We called it a fortune teller. You'd write four colors on the outside triangles then spell out the color the person choses. Then you write numbers on each of the inner flaps and have the person pick a number, count it out, then pick another number. Under the number's flap there'd be a fortune

Instead of fortunes, we had boys' names, that we either liked or hated. When we tried to rope the pre-pubescent boys into playing, we always put 2 of our names and 2 names of the class nosepickers. It's amusing to realize women are sooo evil at such a young age. :innocent:

We called it a fortune teller too and there was always some showoff who would make one from a great big poster-sized piece of paper but the fortune still sucked...

I make them now and then. At my old job, I made one and we dubbed it "decision maker". Me and my co-workers had fun making up fake scenarios re: our cases. It had answers like:

ask the psychiatrist
call screening
case conference
discuss with director
further assessment
refer to RN
and some other in office stuff.

I think I still have it somewhere.

I make paper footballs all the time out of habit and fling it across the office.

I always just folded (or cut) the paper into a rectangle so that it is much longer lengthwise than it is height wise. Then just start fold the paper so you have a right triangle, and keep folding the paper naturally over that triangle. When you get to the end you should have a little overhang and you just fold that little flap into a slit in the triangle

How about things (games) to do with just a pencil and paper?

A track drawn on paper then you use the pencil to make tracks around it.
Finger on top let it fall as you make the trace.

Or dots in a grid then you make lines to fill in a box.
Put your int. in ones you made.
