the problem is this: the cheap seats are not great seats. with HD TV at home, why pay anything to not have a great seat. the stadium is pretty dead anyway and the weather has been shit

Dont gimmie that nonsense. 30% of the seats in Fenway are terrible and people go. Sometimes you sit behind a pole, people still go. The old stadium, all the seats were full.

right but even shitty seats at the stadium are still 110 a piece on stubhub. 200 level 1b side. i mean not terrible seats, but still not what I would consider cheap

my point is in the old stadium tickets never woulda got down to 2 or 3 bucks no matter where they were. Its not cause the weather or the stadium, its cause the awful (for the most part, I know they have some real fans who know baseball) fan base

You are 100% right on this, no way in the last 10 years would tickets have been that cheap for most games. I think it is just the mentality that tickets are so expensive, no one even looks for them.

I think it's also because of the location of Yankees stadium. I've said it before and I'll say it again, why wouldn't post-dynasty attendance be the same as pre-dynasty attendance? Am I the only one that remembers Steinbrenner constantly talking about moving to team to NJ pre-1996?

Yankees fucked up big time. The inaugural season in the new ballpark should have been an automatic sellout. But they got greedy and people felt taken advantage of. Even a mediocre team should have sellout this season.
Idiots.

because in the 80's the team was horrible. Right now, this team is supposed to have a shot at winning it all. Not to mention ITS A NEW STADIUM
Shit the Devils actually got a good draw their first year just cause they were in a new place. And the Mets suck too and people are still goin to see them. Its cause the org blew it and pissed off what good fans they did have, and most of the fans just are shitty fans

yea and go look at what they start for for Sox games? SHIT KNICKS GAMES WERE STARTING AT 25 THE SECOND HALF OF THIS SEASON. Besides scroll down the lists and they also have NON AUCTION tickets, and some of those are still only like 10-15 dollars. If you actually look you will see.

I think im gonna start buying tickets to yankee games and just bringing other teams fans. Maybe if 15 people do the same as me, and we all buy 4 tickets each, we could get more non yankee fans than yankee fans in there

Yeah, great fans, those Yankee fans. Their guy loses the game to a bitter rival, gets a standing "o".
The Yankees have jumped the shark.

HE WAS LOSING THE GAME. THIS IS EXACTLY OUR POINT
he gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and 5 and 2 thirds, I DONT CARE HOW MANY HE STRUCK OUT - Mike Francessa

Mike Francessa as a source of any authority just proves my earlier post about you.
They were cheering Joba, the team stunk.
The Sox never give big Popup a curtain call when the team is losing?

because the Rock is much easier to access than the brendon byrne. at the BB, you could only get there by car, then got fucked for parking.
at the rock, you can take the train. no driving, all the drinking you want.

im pretty sure no. Curtain calls arent just to do. They are supposed to mean something. he gave up 4 runs in 5.2 innings. Thats not a good outing, i dont care how many guys he Ked.

Thats the fundamental problem with the Yankees organization right now in my opinion. They are way too interested in player accolades/awards than in winning baseball games.

I didn't really understand this either. How is 4 runs in 5.2 innings a great start? Who cares if the runs came in the 1st or 4th inning?

This actually makes a huge difference. If a pitcher gives up 4 runs in the first inning but then locks it down and doesn't give up anything else for the next 5, that's much preferable to him having a single inning meltdown later on.
