You should follow the Vikings. Never a dull moment.
I remember being fascinated with the Vikings when I was a very young boy. You'd see highlights of these games in frigid temperatures with the snow falling like mad and Bud Grant stalking the sidelines.
They really lost a lot of their mystique when they moved into a dome.
And I think I'll always love baseball and hockey more than football; always have. When you don't have a rooting interest your passion for the sport wanes even more.

Yeah. The Met was an intimidating place to play in.
We all needed The Mall of America. That wasn't the reason they moved, but that is where it ended up.
So nostalgic walking through Nickelodeon Indoor Amusement Park and seeing a bronzed home plate at the exact location where it used to be.:wallbash:

There is a build up, higher, higher and higher. The ride keeps getting better. You can't believe it.
He'll be injured and out for the year in the next 3 weeks, and a stunned Tarvaris Jackson is going to drive that team right in the ditch.

Early in the season, it was clear that he was being very careful. He was throwing a lot of short passes, very high percentage stuff.
In the past couple of games, though, I see him returning to his "Fuck it, I'm goin' deep" ways. It bit him in the ass against Pittsburgh, and almost did against Green Bay.

Fuck it I'm going deep hurt him against the Steelers? You mean the 2 yard screen pass that was intercepted or the fumble from holding the ball way too long?

So you trade away the top two targets for your QB and have 94 year old Jamal Lewis as your #1 rb, and you're surprised your offense sucks.

Nah, I think they're going to have some crazy-ass game where either the offense fails to fire and they lose something like 24-21 (21 points would be a bad game for them), or the defense goes flat and they lose something like 48-45.
I do think they'll end up with a 14-2 or even 15-1 record, though.

Pretty much. It cannot be understated how absolutely wretched he was with the Bears. His attitude and work ethic were completely different. Most of his teammates couldn't stand him because he didn't give a shit and gave up most of the time. I'm happy for the guy that he turned it around, but like you said it took getting the boot for him to decide to step it up, and even if he had some magically turned it around while with the Bears he'd be rendered all but useless by the horrendous OL they have.

Not really. Benson would have just stayed awful if he was here and even if he turned it around with the kick in the ass of getting cut he'd be trapped behind the same wretched OL that is crippling the Bears' running game. Orton is just being Orton: he's the perfect QB on a team where he doesn't have to be a gamechanger. Get him on a solid, balanced team and he won't lose games for you and he'll keep you in it. Neither would be having the success they are now of they were still on the Bears (the Bears' record would likely be even worse with Orton instead of Cutler) so wishing they were still here is pointless.

Saw this story on Deadspin, about an exterminator being called out to Lil' Danny Snyder's house...it certainly does explain a lot:
The exterminator was called to Snyder's house to spray for pests. When the exterminator arrived, the housekeeper instructed him where to go spray. But the exterminator found no signs of pests in the space. He came down to tell the housekeeper there was no need to spray, and he didn't want to take Snyder's money for a service the Redskins owner didn't need performed (clearly, this man was honest to a fault).
The housekeeper insisted the exterminator spray the area anyway, telling the man that Snyder hated to be told he was wrong, and that it would be better for everyone if he simply sprayed the area, took his money, and went about his business. But, he explained, there's nothing there. There's no need to spray. She insisted. Apparently, you REALLY do not want to tell Dan Snyder there are no pests in his house if he believes otherwise. So the man sprayed the area for no reason, took Snyder's money, and left.

He's definitely got an issue with the red zone picks this year (the first and final picks were all on him tonight) but the other picks were the result of having an inexperienced group of receivers without that go-to #1 WR. Those other picks were the result of receivers falling down or not taking their routes as called; not a damn thing a QB can do about that.

That's not how the 3rd pick went down at all. It was a bad snap and a receiver not cutting like he was supposed to (arguably due to pass interference). Again, I'm not letting the guy off the hook, but the majority of the picks are the end result of having a bad team (or, more accurately, an average team with bad players in critical positions).
His biggest problem in the red zone is not settling for 3 points. You can't force a TD if guys just aren't open. He's got to get over that and realize when the play simply is not there and take the FG.

yea, but at least with the last one you cant settle for 3 points when down by 4 with no time left. so whats he now on the season 14 TDs and 17 INTs? i cant see how thats really defensible. everybody hates on him because he acted like a diva bitch, thinking he was bigger than the team, to force his way out of Denver and now he just looks like a jerkoff rotting away on a shitty team in Chicago. I just dont really have sympathy for people like that. I also wish Brandon Marshall somehow got forced out of Denver and was rotting away in St. Louis right now. If you act like an asshole then you deserve to get whats coming to you. Cutler has done NOTHING in his career to actually prove he's worthy of diva status, yet he continues to act like one. Same goes for Phillip Rivers. Yet the guys that actually produce, i.e. Manning & Brady, quietly go about their business, keep their mouths shut and continue to guide winning teams. funny how that shit goes.

Pretty easily. 7 of those picks are all on him. 5 of those 7 are in the red zone and are from him trying to force a TD. There's really no defense of them at all and it highlights where the actual problem is with him throwing picks. The other 10 are the result of guys missing their routes or tripping/slipping/etc.. very good quarterbacks do this all the time.
Good QB's are going to throw more picks when they're repeatedly in situations where they have to come from behind again and again to try and win at the end of the game
(as was the case in Denver) and when they're on bad teams. As I've said repeatedly, Cutler has his obvious flaws, especially in the red zone, but he's also repeatedly shown his strengths. Look at the numbers that the very good receivers are putting up in Denver without him as opposed to the numbers the very raw and not very good receivers in Chicago are putting up with him: that's a pretty good argument for his strengths as a QB. No, Cutler is not the elite kind of guy you can just plug into a team and he's going to turn it all around, but he's the strong enough QB that he can be your franchise guy so long as you construct a team that maximizes his abilities. The Bears are obviously not that team right now, and obviously not that team for any QB except for the very best out there, and I don't know how much luck they'd even have with this OL.

Oh, well that's pretty much conclusive.
Cutler is a guy who is going to throw more picks than is ideal...that's just who he is. The more he has to pass the more likely he is to force a pick and with this Bears team it's pretty much all on him since the running game is practically non-existent. Until they can fix the OL and open up some slots for the RB's, games like this will have to happen from time to time. Once you have a running game you'll see the picks drop dramatically. It's similar to having a guy like Favre, who has a good, strong arm and is rightly confident in his ability but is going to throw picks when he gets overconfident in what he can do and end up passing more than they should (like more than, say, 35 times a game).

I don't understand this Cutler pile on. He's really not the problem
with the Bears.

I'm excited for the game tonight. I think its going to come down to the Colts pass defense. If they could keep pressure on Brady and neutralize Welker it could be a long night for the Pats. My guess is at least one team will score over 30 points. If Colts win it'll be because of Manning/pass d, if Pats win it'll be Brady/Moss.

The Vikes should be kicking the Lions' ass by now.
Too many errors.

I took the Lions in this game with the 17 pts. The Vikings tend to play up or down to their competition.

The Rams could possibly have the worst 2 minute offense I've ever seen.
Also, Chad Henne proving disneyspy's claim about how smart Michigan grads are. Nice pick, dick.

This might be the best time ever to be a Bengals fan. With the victory over the Steelers today, they're 5-0 in the division, and only need to beat the awful Browns at home to go 6-0. They've pretty much locked up their spot in the playoffs, and now it looks like we can go beyond just talking about them being in the playoffs, and seriously consider them Super Bowl contenders.
I mean, today's game was the kind of game that the Bengals are not supposed to win. No offensive touchdowns? Only about 200 yards total offense? But that defense kicked in and knocked the Steelers around, and they win a tough game.
And just think of all the people who gave up on this team, who embraced other teams that have begun to suck. What kind of person would do that?

The worst kind of person in the word.
I can't imagine the type of vile animal who would abandon his team. That type of person would be a real scumbag.
