Stafford only threw 3 picks and 34 rushing yards total for the team.
That's good for the Lions.
Smith had 15 carries for 20 yards. What a team!

That's great if you have 20 rushes from the goal line.
That's great if you have 20 rushes from the goal line.
Their defense seems much improved....only 6 touchdowns for Brees!

all week I have bragged (on facebook) how the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFC West... they looked gr8, but it was the Rams, next week against the Niners will set the early stage
So wait, you picked the Hawks in a TERRIBLE division and you want credit. Come on man, they're a ton of people's pick too...those not over confident in the Zona smoke and mirrors of 2008.
I also was high on the Bengals, I guess I was just High, those felony freaks are cursed.... having problems like the Giants once near the red zone, but they dont have a good enough "d" to help them out
Bengals don't have a good enought D to help them out? I'm sorry, the D was the only thing they should be proud of. Sure it's Denver, but they finished the year ranked 12th last year and now really only allow a bs td on the second straight ball that could have been picked, and one of 2 FGs at the end of the half shouldn't have stood either due to a bad call on a catch. Cincy will only get better once Palmer gets his touch back. He didn't play all preseason with the ankle.
The Vikings also played a crappy team without any pressure... they luck out with a easy September...
Easy there Hippo, AP carried the load as Favre is still getting a grasp of the playbook and that D will keep them in games regardless. I agree with the easy start, but it's only going to help them get ready for the next level of comp.
The Falcons are good, their defense is top notch and they are starting to fill their stadium up... not to mewntion Gonzolez is motivated again....looks like the Saints and Falcons can come out of the NFC South, so the central and east best be on notice

Kolb would have to get hurt too, or play the Eagles almost out of contention for Vick to get a start.
I've watched every game of the Andy Reid era, I know how the guy coaches. He's not going to just turn it over to Vick.
When they signed him, it was as a gadget play guy with the eventual plan being to rebuild him as a QB ready to take over the team (if necessary) by 2011 to hedge their bets against McNabb leaving.

What Hbox said and PB's realization. You not only give urself a shot on blocking a PAT, you also get some work in on the goal-line/2pt play. Why not? Making it puts a dagger in the heart in some ways too. Like rubbing it in.
To me, the Baltimore td on 4th at the end of the game was BS. I almost surely think Harbaugh had money on his own team to cover. I mean a chip shot for a 10pt lead and 20 secs left? That one killed my pick and just seemed sooooo odd.

Bionic arm for the other team. And fuck Hippo, he has a GREAT TE/RB tandem. It would help to use them, especially since Forte led the fucking NFL for receptions last year as a damn rookie, yet had ZERO catches tonight. The one time I remember him throwing to Forte, he put it in the hands of Polly, who you couldn't POSSIBLY missed standing on that side of Forte. Cutler's short game is awful as he has NO touch and doesn't WANT to throw those patterns. He needs to settle the fuck down and let Forte lead this team and use his arm as a decoy/once in a while play deep to open shit up. Why change the whole look of the team overnight when you don't have the bullets for the gun?! Fuck Lovie and Cutler.

I'd still love to know why the McNabb was running (which always gets him hurt at this point) in a blowout. Sure the hit was a little late, but not that bad. It's just a dumb move on his part. Kick the FG if you have to and go up 34-10 against a team that's playing awful, and it's #3 in at QB going into the 4th Q.

Because he was a first round pick, and they've never gotten a real look at him. But this is the defining moment of Kolb as an Eagle. He has a chance to get at least two starts (most don't expect McNabb back until after the bye).
If he plays well against the Saints, he'll earn the start against the Chiefs. He'll get almost all the reps in practice, he should have plenty of preparation so he has to perform now.
If he sucks, and gets crushed by the Saints, and they go to Garcia against the Chiefs, that's the end of Kolb. I could absolutely see him cut when McNabb gets back.

It's not that they're down on him, they just don't know, and they're not going to just hand him the reigns unconditionally.
The Eagles have never leaked anything about him not meeting expectation, but a lot of people who cover the team have said he looks solid in camp, and then terrible in games.
With Feeley, that's another issue. He's reportedly heading to Carolina, where he'll be on the roster all year and could be conceivably starting in a few weeks.

I doubt that very highly. I'm not sure they even envision Vick actually playing at the QB spot right now, and they were technically carrying 4 already. The only thing that changed is AJ was swapped out for Garcia. If anything, I can't see them cutting Kolb for a 40 year old Garcia unless they're comfortable with Vick in the near future if McNabb were to be out long term.

My point was the Eagles tipped their hand there, nothing to do with the round he was drafted. I simply don't agree on your take, but I honestly don't know how Kolb has been. I just doubt the Eagles would dump the high drafted younger QB when they've shown they have no issue carrying 4 QBs to start the year. If anything, they just got stronger at the position once all aren't suspended and healthy.
If it gets to the point where Garcia starts, I think Kolb's gone.
The only way Garcia plays is if Kolb is so terrible Garcia has to play. If it gets to that point, he's gone when McNabb comes back and they'll go with McNabb as QB1, Vick as the technical QB2 (to run wildcat plays), and Garcia as the technical QB3 (although he'll see action if McNabb goes down again).
The likelihood of Kolb being that bad?...I honestly have no idea what to expect at this point.
He's looked horrible in limited play, but the Eagles don't give their backup QB any real reps during the week so anytime we've seen him, he's been horribly unprepared.

I do wonder what this says about Vick. I'm with you here; it clearly states the team does not believe he is not ready to play at QB, and he is not an option if McNabb goes down for the season. McNabb's played with worse injuries than he has now, so I think he'll play next week, but I think there's a good chance he does not finish the season.
Maybe if McNabb makes it to, say, Week 9 or 10, Vick could be ready, but even then I think the team is saying they'd go with Garcia. Which raises the question: OK, fine, but why did you sign Michael Vick then? What are you going to do with him now?

They would be retarded to carry 4 qb's after week 4. They technically have 4 on the roster to start the season but one isn't available for 2 weeks. To carry McNabb, Garcia, Kolb with Vick as an emergency would be retarded. It should be McNabb, Garcia with Vick emergency. It's a waste of a roster spot.
And the Giants are being screwed by the dumb IR rule. Ware is out for more than a month, they were already short on the roster at the position as it was. Now they have to IR him to get a new back on the roster, or wait out a potentially long injury even more shorthanded. Get a 30 day DL

Brady HAS NOT been taking hits like that all preseason. He played some, but really not much. He surely was iffy early in terms of over throwing and comfort in the pocket. Later, the Bills dropped into coverage and let them pass all over them while the Pats put on the pressure. I was most impressed Edwards, Jackson and Schobel. Great games. Now their kick returner...not so much. Soooo dumb.
This Buffalo secondary sucks yet they are doing an awful lot of be-bopping when Brady helps them out by making a bad throw.
JB, that's just not the case as McGee is outstanding in my mind and the rest of the core isn't so bad either. Did they allow an all world QB to light them up late in the game, sure. Still, letting them go underneath was the plan, fumbling on the KR was not.

The Patriots were terrible for a long, long time.
And this B-Team of announcers are terrible.
As were the Devils and Yankees when i was growing up. But I just can't compete with the logic of a Chargers/Blue Jays/Avalanche fan.

What idiot television suit thought Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic had any place in a NFL broadcast booth?

Quality defense by the Chargers there.
Let a guy run free down the middle of the field on 4th and 15.

Wow, I never thought I'd see so many teams just give away games. Rivers still has PLENTY of time though, but I'm not trusting Turner's play calling here. I want Rivers to make the calls.

Why is it that every time I tune into a Chargers game and it's late Tomlinson is always on the sidelines?

I only flipped over to the game every once in a while. Did the Raiders play better than people expected, or did the Chargers just suck ass and barely pull it off in the end?

Bc you make shit up. He wasn't injured as there is a clear rotation in effect now to save them both later. All this LT hate is just stupid and insane.

Both.
Still 12 in a row against a big rival in state is still 12. I'll take it. Now fire the D coord at least.

it's not hate, it's an observation on the Chargers games I've seen. I haven't seen them all. But what the hell are they saving him for if they don't put him in at the end of a close game?

Boxy, Sproles was playing better all game and this team will win the West falling asleep. No need to use ur aged RB with tons of mileage too much. I agree with the call in the end, for multiple reasons.

Even the dumb announcers were mystified by his disappearance.
They kept calling Sproles a "fill-in", but I'm pretty sure Sproles saw way more action than LT did.

isnt funny how bad he misses receivers. Its not accuracy problems when you never had accuracy is it? How did this kid make it 4 years through college and not get exposed. He cant even hit a guy 10 yards away wide open. he is worse then fuckin Dave Brown

There was more to the LT story than we all knew. As it turns out, LT "rolled" his ankle and has a sprain. He's to be held out of practice until Thursday, but could play.
I think they should go with Bennett and Sproles for a week and let it heal unless he's fine. Rushing against Baltimore is no joke, and Bennett is more a bruiser at this point anyway. The bigger injuries right now are Hardwick AND Vasquez on the O-line. Hardwick is an all-pro caliber center and Vasquez beat up Forney the vet for his spot. I bet they wish Forney was still in house right now, bc they are soooo in trouble in the trench. Look for an airial attack against Baltimore, which is actually the only game Turner is good at so it's not all bad.

I'm not a new York fan on anything, but this weeks matchups:
Jets/ pats
NYG/Cowboys
Are 2 games I'd pay $ to see.
Any word on either being nationally broadcast?

A day after Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver said his team will consider drafting Tim Tebow this year to invigorate the franchise's flagging fanbase, the Florida Gators quarterbacked reacted strongly.
"I am a big fan or murder. I do it a lot myself, in fact," said Tebow during a press conference broadcast only to the Jacksonville area. "I also enjoy interceptions. Many times I throw a football wildly into a playground, striking a child in the head and killing it. This hobby of mine combines my two great loves: murder and inaccurate passing."
Then Tebow really tried to show the Jaguars he's not the person they think he is and said the the first curse word of his life: "Farts!" he yelled. "Gosh golly farts! If I was an NFL team, I wouldn't draft me. I'm too big of a risk. Farts!"
