Why, why, why, why, why

Matthew McConaughey has revealed to MTV News that he has spoken with original “Dazed” and Confused” writer/director Richard Linklater about a potential sequel to the film, and explained exactly what he’d like to see happen.

“That’s a very precious subject, that movie,” says with a smile, “We made such a gem… I’ve had loose discussions about what would be the next [in]carnation of a ‘Dazed and Confused’… [Linklater is] not going to do it unless it’s done the right way. It’s a good idea, but he’s gotta pick the right way to do it.”

Linklater proved that he can pull of an amazing sequel with his decade-apart “Before Sunrise” and “Before Sunset” and has already stated that he’d like to do another sequel to one of his more mainstream hits, “School of Rock.”

Recently, CHUD reported that Linklater is set to tackle a film this summer that he calls a “Spiritual sequel” to “Dazed”, set in 1980, dealing with a first weekend of college but not set to feature any of the same characters.

McConaughey would like to see a full-on sequel, however and thinks the idea could certainly bear some fruit:

“You’ve gotta bring back certain cast members. I’d love to see what they’re all doing today. I’d love to see what they’re all doing ten years later. It came out in what, 92? I’d love to say it’s 1992…David Wooderson may have a few kids. Running a community radio station. I don’t know.”

He seems to grasp that they "made such a gem," yet he wants to try and recapture that almost 15 years after the fact.

I must disagree. The sequel, "Before Sunset" sucked balls.

You're mentally unstable.

If you liked that sequel then there is no hope for you. Pure drivel.

Lemme guess, something to do with him trying to keep his daughter pure while somehow trying to nail her friends.

If he wants to know what wooderson would be doing now all he has to do is put down the bong and look in the mirror.

The sequel would've been better in a laundromat.

I can tolerate a lot of movie sequels that probably "shouldn't" be made. Total Recall, etc, those types.

Movies like this, and many others should be off fucking limits. The first is a classic up and coming teenager movie perfectly done, and for those who grew up with it, it's part of our childhood.

HANDS OFF! It's about as bad as a Goonies sequel if they do it
