HMM hot dogs aka dirty water dogs, stadium steak, perhaps the best at home fast food their is, besides kraft mac and cheese. I like nathan's probably the best, Sabrett is a bit too tough for my liking. Ball parks are pretty disgusting IMO.
Now to the meat of things, what do you put on your hotdog? Many a disagreement have caused over what should and shouldnt go on a hotdog. Now the only hot dog taboo i had was ketchup. That was the most revolting condiment to place on a dwd. But I have grown to accept it now. But man, is there anything better than a everything hot dog. Mustard, relish, saurkraut, chili, cheese, onions just yummy. Did you ever notice that particular pungent onions give you repeaters. So good going down, but man hell to pay on the way back up.
There are so many ways to enjoy hotdogs. Cut them up, place them in you eggs, put them in your mac and cheese. Remember when spaghetto's had franks in them . Boy I miss those. You almost never see spaghetto's with franks. I have to add my own franks now. sigh, anyhoooo....
I must declare the hotdog as the near perfect food substance. Its quick and easy, albeit full of nasty by products and rat feces and hair, but it is the food of the gods.

I haven't had a hot dog in years, but when I did eat them I was a fan of relish and mustard.

Texas Weiners...All the way! Load 'em up! If not, chili and cheese will do in a pinch. And if we're keeping it real simple, I much prefer ketchup to mustard as a hot dog topping. So shoot me.

I have always been a fan of mustard and relish. I know you're technically not supposed to put ketchup on a hot dog, but I like that from time to time as well.

Chili, if available. I usually add Tobasco or some kind of hot sauce to the chili. If not chili, then a good HOT mustard.

Horseradish mustard rocks!

Rutt's Hut in Clifton (I think) definitely hits the top ten of doghouses.

Sure, I love me a dirty water dog, or even one with chili and cheese from a 7-11. But a good Thumann or Shickhaus on the grill, slightly blackened, with hot mustard and kraut cant be beat.

I was gonna say hotdog johnny's but the server was given me problems so I didnt post it. Stewarts isnt half bad either. Dover Grill has some decent hotdog's as well but they are seasonl like stewarts. They are both only open spring to fall.
And if were a Hotdog you could nt eat yourself because you wouldnt have teeth or a mouth to do so. But I would wager you would want to though

Another fan of Walters here. They are the best hotdogs in the world, beer battered and fried up fresh, mmmmmmmmm. If its from Walters I just put some mustard on, if I have to get a hotdog somewhere else I usually go with mustard and potato salad.

I'm a HUGE hot dog fiend. Can't get enough of them, and one of the only foods I crave.

There was this place Lenny's in Bucks County Pennsylvania, they would serve hotdogs on a potato roll with pepper hash (http://www.essortment.com/all/pepperhashreci_npf.htm). Excellent with brown mustard.

When I have a bigger hot dog, for instance an Omaha Steak gourmet Hot dog (http://www.omahasteaks.com/servlet/browse/?Dsp=4&PID=Gourmet-Franks), I like nothing but some fresh chopped onions and mustard. Maybe some relish, but normally not.

When I have a Nathan's Hot Dog, I like to enjoy it with nothing on it at all. Just a plain hotdog and bun. Sabrett's is a close second, with Phillies Hot Dogs on Potato Rolls a close third.

Luckily one fell perfectly with no mess or anything. The other lost some of it's kraut but I was able to make a full recovery. I love Nathan's, Boar's Head, and Sabretts dogs.

No, in my apartment. My wife's Japanese, so I happened to have a jar of pickled ginger in the fridge. Kinda came to me and didn't seem like a terrible idea, then it worked.

I know there's a place in Vancouver called Japa-Dog that use asian style toppings for their dogs, and it's supposed to be delicious. I guess I wanted to give it a shot myself.

They cut them open and deep fry them. They serve alcohol too. Perfect place to go for a nightcap and some greasy food after a night of drinking!

If you can handle it.

We went there 2 weeks ago. You have to try them with the chili. They won't put it on the dog but you can get a bowl on the side. I have quart of the chili in the freezer. They also give you oyster crackers if you want just a bowl of chili. It's wonderful!

According to my father, Paterson native and Jersey hot dog connoisseur, Johnny & Hanges used to be good...30 years ago. He says Fall's View is still good, and the dogs at Rutt's Hut are good, but he raised me on Libby's and Libby's sauce. The parents live up in Sussex County and he will make the hour trip down to Paterson to pick up Libby's sauce to bring back home, and have a couple dogs while he's there.

Rutt's Hutt is awesome... I love a couple of cremators with that tasty relish and a bag of fries. The Hot Grill in Clifton is OK, I like their burgers better than their dogs. Libby's in Paterson is first rate also... they make a mean roast beef sandwich too.

However, I can't believe nobody has mentioned Hot Dog Johnny's in lovely Buttzville NJ. Get a few dogs with mustard and pickles with a cold buttermilk. Fantastic.

I like natural casing dogs the best. That "snap" that they make when you bite into them is THE BEST thing EVER.

When I was a kid, I used to think that Sabretts were the best ever hot dog on the planet.

Now, well, they make me sick.

And boiled hot dogs are for the lazy and the very young.

Grill or pan-fry those fuckers, so the skin crisps up and you're good.

(Nathan's, Dietz & Watson and whatever the grocery store carries that are natural casing.)

Oh, and they MUST be served with mustard, preferably spicy brown (love Inglehoffers, any variety, especially the stone-ground and hot-honey mustard) ... and sauerkraut if we have any. (Oh man, I haven't had sauerkraut on a hot dog in years!)

So I decided to go Chili and Cheese instead of Wrigley style.

Made my own chili with
-a pound of ground turkey (cooked in extra virgin olive oil)
-a sliced large onion
-one cup of ketchup
-1/4 cup of mustard
-chili powder
-garlic salt
-ground pepper
-a touch of Tabasco

Mixed the turkey & onion in and let that cook first. Added the chili sauce and let it simmer for 20 minutes or so.

Grilled the dogs on charcoal, and then grilled the rolls as well.

Grated fresh cheese on top, and served with cold beer.

Turned out great. I was extremely pleased with how the chili turned out.

I usually don't like all beef hot dogs except for a few brands. I like a beef pork mixture, but it's sometimes hard to find that with no poultry.

Dude!

I went to a friend's barbecue over the weekend. The hot dogs had the diameter of a silver dollar.

You can't beat dogs from the butcher.

Stick Nathan's, Sabrett, Ballpark, and Oscar Meyer up to the furthest point in your ass.

those butcher's hot dogs always have
a skin that is too thick and tight
when your teeth finally break through it
hot juice splatters all over your face

none taken! Kraut and relish on any BBQ hot dog or bratwurst is an american thing anyway.
