Great shows. Why can't we see that stuff anymore?

Headbanger's Ball used to rock... I loved that show, even when it was cheesey... Back when Adam Curry used to do it... It was cool when Rikki Rachman took over, but he tried to act to cool...
120 minutes used to be really cool too... I liked when 120 mins use to showcase bands like Ministry & Sonic Youth...bands that rocked, but for the most part got overlooked...

My best friend interned for 120 Minutes in 1988. I used to visit her and we'd go into the video library and watch all the videos they never played-- old Bauhaus, The Replacements, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, The Buzzcocks, Husker Du.

120 Minutes was, at the time, THE source for seeing anything punk, goth or underground on tv. And I mean back when Kevin Seal hosted it before that britfgag Dave Kendall. But the best part was watching repeats of Monty Python and The Young Ones before it came on.

The Young Ones...darling we're The Young Ones
The Young Ones...shouldn't be afraid
We live...love...there's a song to be sung
Cause we may not, be the Young Ones, very long...
Holy crap, that was totally from memory. So some it might not be right, but I think it is.

God I was so depressed when they both got cancelled, because they were the last two shows on MTV that showcased the kind of music that I'm into.
Headbangers went first, but 120 Minutes lasted a bit longer. I used to watch it every Sunday night from like midnight to 2 a.m....then one night, it was just gone, with no warning.
MTV STINKS.

I watched "Headbanger's Ball"
with my cousin Thor. He was obsessed with Warrant, and the rest is history. Just look at him now, and he certainly does eat his share of "Cherry Pie".;)

You could find decent stuff on Much Music somtimes. I'm surprised nobody brings that channel up. Not that I like it. I just like having an alternative.

Why is the current MTV all "boy bands" and black people rapping, moaning and jiving? No offense, we have BET for that stuff. :)

I Miss 120 mins. It was the last place I saw anything from The Rentals.
Damn, now you people made me all weepy.
