All this asbergers talk has made it obvious to me that doctors are the ones driving us crazy.
They over analize and come up with all these stupid things that are wrong with us but rarely offer a solution.
Yet the common cold is still kicking everyones ass.
Cancer seems to be going strong.
What are these white coat fuckers really getting done?

Psychiatry is hilarious. A totally unproven "science" where the people "treating" the patients are often crazier than their clientele.

And as for medical doctors, there's a bunch of quacks on that end as well. I've known doctors that were drunks, pill poppers, and statutory rapists.

Funny how some people see "Dr." in front of someone's last name and immediately think that commands respect.

AS a doc I guess I SHOULD stand up for my brethren, but for the most part, can't..but a few caveats:

1. First, GVAC...drunks, pill-poppers, rapists? Are you speaking about doctors, or people on these message boards? Is there a difference?

2. When I was in med school, a friend who was going to be a psychiatrist told me" In 10 years, no more head -shrinking. it'll all be about taking a pill..Fuck if he wasn't right .and for the most part , for the worse..You wouldn't believe how many mothers tell me how their little Johnny can't be having a bad drug reaction..He doesnt TAKE any bad drugs, then reel off how many different brand names of speed they're on.

3. You 've gotta be NUTS if you think the title "Dr" is a sign of respect these days. I believe a good part of the problem is ..just fucking Americans. I did part of my medical clinical studies in England ( 91) and from that I found that not only did the British people make do with what little they might have had (Think about one CT scan in an entire county, let alone city) ,but they APPRECIATE their doctors so much more..The ONLY patient I took care of over there who complained about his care was ,or course, an American . America wants the BEST care, right NOW, for NO cost . Working here, the JANITOR in your hospital usually gets more respect than the doctor.

But then again , I was telling people who were thinking of going into Medicine they'd do better as brokers, and look what scumbags THEY turned out to be...

I love you buddy. But this post has hit hard. My son has been diagnosed with Aspergers and since his diagnosis things have been much better. I have a lot to say and I will not bore the board with it, You have my number G.

I think you know the majority of my posts are wise ass, tongue in cheek responses, and from time to time they may hit home for certain people.

Same thing happens to me. With the way we bust balls around here, odds are someone is going to have certain posts "hit home" for them.

Unless we say every single response has to be a serious one, however, things like that will happen.

gvac, I was already going to say something yesterday when you threw aspergers in with general mental illness but I did not, cause I know your posts by now and how serious they are. I must say a lot of people don't know it though and take your world like a bible... so sometimes you probably should be more careful with what you preach.... (you put that weight on your own shoulders... )

Ryan, I did not know your son had aspergers, I used to watch a kid that had it and at the time was not diagnosed yet... and it was very difficult. We are still friends today and he is doing absolutely great. I am glad your son was diagnosed and hopefully keep improving.

I'm sure there are plenty of legitimate situations out there, but I also think there are crazy people who need to have somthing to justify their odd or crazy behavior. Not busting balls, but remember when Fez was all into his bridge fear? and some shrink told him the medical name for it? Or that sundowners shit? He brought it up over and over using the medical term until Ron called him out on it. But instead of someone facing facts and embracing their weirdness, they like to call it a disease or syndrome so they can blame their weirdness on somthing other than themselves.

The problem isnt just the doctors, its the American public. People that just fucking refuse to believe they have hyper or GOD FORBID....BAD kids!!! No that cant be. Its must be an illness. Its someone elses fault. Lets throw a bunch of initials together and see what we can come up with...hmmmm ADD, ADHD, here just dope your kids up! Have some ritalin, its like parenting in a bottle!!! This shit shuts them up even more then TV! Then everyone can relax and parents and teachers can do their jobs without the slightest bump in the road.

Its fucking sickening. 90% of these "illnesses" they diagnose kids with are bullshit. I dont believe in such a thing as ADD or ADHD. Its called the kid has a hyperactive mind and is bored with what hes doing. Think your kid has ADD? Give the fucker a PS3 and a brand new game for it, watch how long that holds his attention. I know hyper kids can be a handful, I was one. My mom pleaded with doctors for years for some kind of medication to calm me down. Swearing up and down I had some kind of disorder. The doctors back then said "Hes just hyper." And Im glad they did. Ritalin may have helped me do a little better in school but I didnt want to be a doped up kid with a numb mind. I like thinking for myself. My kids will never see one of those pills as long as Im alive.

So they give the kids the pills to dope them up, the soccer moms the anti-depressants so they can walk through life with a goofy smile instead of finding out why they are unhappy, and the workforce with speed to make us faster workers and sleeping pills so that the speed doesnt keep us up all night. Its a pilled up nation anymore.
