Alright, vinyl was great and all. But really, we all know that the best form of musical recording was, is, and always will be...
THE 8-TRACK !!
That's right, you're favorite 4-track, song-splitting, plastic bitch is back. Which of yours are the coolest?
I've got all my dad's old ones, which include such gems as Led Zeppelin III and Glass Houses by Billy Joel.
I myself have Star Wars, but it's not the soundtrack, it's the actual audio track of the movie- dialogue, music, fx, the whole thing. Weird.
<br>2002. It's bound to be good, no?

I grew up listening to Kiss on 8-track. Nothing like having 100,000 years parts 1 & 2.

Speaking of 8 Tracks, how many of you ever scammed Columbia House for those "12 8 Tracks for a penny" deal? LOL I used a dead neighbor's name and it worked all the time.

That "ka-chunk" of the 8-track switching programs in the middle of "Freebird" used to make me insane!! I quickly abandoned them for cassettes, which I knew were the wave of the future.

Hahahaha
Here is an embarrassing confession, I still had a working 8 track player in my 89 s10 chevy pick up. The truck didnt have a radio, so I put my pop's old 8 track player in it. Since I had to pay for college myself, I never got around to replacing it. In fact when I sold that truck 3 years ago it went with the 8 track radio and all my old 8 tracks hahahahahaha
So embarrassing! You should have seen the buyers face when he saw that 8 track player.

I think I'm in love!
I had Styx "Paradise Theatre" and "Escape" by Journey, "Zenyatta Mondatta" and "Outlandos D'Amour" by the Police all on 8-track. But the COOLEST thing I had was SHAUN CASSIDY on 8-track.

No, no, no. What's wrong with vinyl is not the records themselves, but the tables on which they're played.
I say, let's stick with the tried and true. If you wish to play a record, make a cone out of some paper, tape a needle to the bottom, put a pencil through the center of the record, spin it, and listen through the paper cone.
I learned how to do that from Mr. Wizard. Cool, huh?

I get it. I get jokes.
