Is "Crank 2" cool?

so i was reading an article on AICN that Mike Patton did the soundtrack and score to "Crank2". Not only that, but the soundtrack cd is essentially a new Mike Patton release. So i'm going to buy that


but then i got a myspace bulletin from Troma films own Lloyd Kaufman saying that he has a cameo in "Crank 2"

so i go to imdb and i read that also, Maynard James Keenan of TOOL also has a cameo in Crank2

I never saw "Crank 1". In fact, the only Jason Statham movie i've ever seen was "Snatch" and I am one of the few people that isn't a fan of that movie

But 3 of the people that I think are the coolest of cool are involved in this project?

So.....is "crank 2" cool? should i check it out?

Dude crank is one of thouse outrageous movies that is so over board it is totally awesome. Yeah it unrealistic but the action is amazing. If you like action and fighting movies you should definitly see it. You can go wrong with a movie about a man with his life on the line.

Crank 2 sounds like the movie Uwe Boll would make if he actually had talent.

I never saw the first Crank, but every single review for Crank 2 says it's just SO over the top that I really need to see it.

Apparently, one of the things they did in Crank 2 was use prosumer HD cameras that only cost 1000 bucks, so they had these wicked cool camera angles with no fear of trashing the camera.

See, this is why movies like Crank 1 & 2 are tolerable, even occasionally enjoyable. When everyone involved knows they are making a shallow, mindless spectacle of a movie that has no purpose other than to be entertaining, it usually turns out okay.

To people like Uwe Boll, making movies is a job. Get in, do your shit, get paid. Who cares if people are entertained, just so long as they shell out their cash.
