View Full Version : Why does Coors always taste a little different?

Am I the only one who notices this? Every time I drink a Coors or Coors Light, it tastes a little different. Some are stronger, weaker, have a little more of that bold beer flavor, etc.
If I crack a Bud, same taste can after can. Even smaller brands usually taste the same. But Coors always seems a little off like there's less attention to the quality of it or something. I'd say it's just a cheap beer but like I said, Bud is just as cheap and it tastes the same every can.

Coors is always tinkering with there packaging as well, last night at the store Inotice a case of Coors cans now have an extra wide mouth for pouring and cool mountain freshness, And didnt they used to have bottles that turned a color when they where at the best temp to drink?

Never had one. I prefer Canadian beer but it's hard to find down here. It's all Mexican imports instead of Canadian goodness.

As mentioned in the Listening Thread, Coors Extra Gold. $13 a 30-pack.
The last one tastes as shitty as the first one.
Quite consistant.

You're the weirdo. Canadian beer rules.
I'm jealous Weeka, Molson is my favorite! And it's probably cuz I have family in Plattsburgh, right on the border of Montreal and they drink it all the time up there.

I already acknowledged it was a cheap, piss beer. I hardly ever drink it, but when I was younger and any beer was a good beer even then I noticed this problem.

You shouldn't be drinking Coors at all unless you are watching Brokeback Mountain. It was developed, designed, and brewed for gay mountain cowboys.I know, that was redundant.

Don't forget the ridiculous "vented" cans.

When I visited the brewery, I urinated in every 11th can/bottle.
That might effect the taste.

Between Molson and Coors merging and Miller and Coors merging there has been alot of fucking around with the brew "recipes". With like 8 brewreries making it there is also a derivation in tastes. Budweiser distributes their product locally, such as the west gets their stuff from the Fort Collins brewery and St Louis handles their own region and so on. Coors on the other hand distributes their products however they can get it to you, so me living in Colorado you would think i would be drinking beer from Golden, not really more often than not it has come from Fort Worth.
Then there is the malting and kiln process to little time in the kiln and the beer is light longer in the kiln and its darker. And the hops they use are brought in from all over the world so instead of using one type of hops in the beer they have been known to use different hops to fill in. Basically Coors is a two hundred and thirty second ranked beer that really isnt worth the 15.99 an 18 pack.
