I just dont like them. They just make me think about how I'd rather have a peice of cake or a cookie. I dont think they're cute or quirky and, aside from Mollys, I wish the cupcake trend would just go away. I am a grown man, I want a grown man's dessert.

The cake to icing ratio really turns me off, I like an even coat. And the tendancy to dryness, crumbiness. I dont like it as a hand food, and I guess I'm conditioned to not feel right eating one with a fork.

When I say I want it to go away it's not the product itself, which is innocent. It is the hype surrounding the product that I dont see. And if the cupcake was just a Mom thing I'm sure it wouldnt bother me. There is a very hipster componant to cupcakes, and that is a very strong association for me.

i would like an "i like turtles" cupcake. it has all the goodness of a turtle chocolate candy in it (caramel, pecans, and chocolate), but it is mixed with cake. they would go well next to the "i got my own cupcake" cukecakes on the shelf.
