Not that that's news, but I'm impressed how he keeps trumping his own douchiness:

So now he's doing the Eminem thing?

....and changing the lyrics? Now thats artistic integrity.

They dug up Bullet With Butterfly Wings to be used for a 2009 PPV? Way to stay hip TNA.

I wonder if that little spoken word piece made it into his poetry collection:

Nice title, deek.

This collection is just a tad too pretentious. Just a tad. I read it, but didn't pay for it.

Id throw Gish in there too. Those two albums bought him enough insurance with me, even though Ive disliked 90% of everything since. Including this promo or whatever the hell that was.

While no one can deny the guy is one of the most pretentious dicks ever, this is really not even notable.

The guy's a wrestling fan...I'm sure that's why he did it.

I remember when he did his fake little set for old ECW and then smashed Cyrus or someone with a guitar.

Holy shit that was motherfucking awful.

THAT is the definition of selling out. You created something and then altered it just for the WWE's horrible little promo. Stripped it of all soul. I can't even listen to the original song the same way anymore.

Oh he has the right to do whatever he wants, but we have the right to spit on the ground in disgust about it.

I would too, along with melonchollie. The guy made a double CD to follow his most successful album and it's pretty solid front to back.

I saw the remnants of Smashing Pumpkins in November. For the first hour and a half they were awesome, very good and intense and playing all their hits. Then they went from Heavy Metal Machine into an intolerable 30 minute jam session that included when Corgan stopped playing his guitar and starting playing around with the board, yanking plugs in and out and randomly cutting out instruments that led to whoever the guitarist taking off his guitar and throwing it violently backstage. Then they came back out for an encore that included Corgan bitching out the audience for coming in late and booing during the godawful jam session, then claiming he was joking. It was a disappointing ending to a promising night.

I didn't post this thread to slam Corgan in general. I love most of the Pumpkins' music up until that last album. He's just gone out of his way to seem as douche-y as possible since.

Ugh.

I thought the radio/artist relationship was pretty apparent. The artist is compensated in free promotion so they sell albums (just because people choose to steal music these days...that's not radio's fault), and sell live show tickets.

Siamese dream was and is great. Melloon collie good too, never knew he was a wrestling fan. But who hasn't sold out these days? Iggy, the doors, zeppelin, even wilco on commercials. What's the big deal?
