I saw this this morning, and I absolutely wept. That is one of my favorite songs and she was just incredible.

it's funny that you bring that up. it really feeds into the victim culture that is so popular in America

I agree....i came to the verge of tears myself, and i aint no crier.
As someone who would love to have a great singing voice, i feel SO happy for this woman.
God blessed her with her voice, and i hope He blesses her in her career.

Saw it. Loved it. Her voice is a pure as humanly possible.
Although, now that I've had time to digest it.... I think it sends a weird message that she (and Potts) are getting so much attention and accolades.
"WOW! UGLY PEOPLE CAN SING??!! WELL WHATTYA KNOW?!"
I mean really. The fact that these people aren't sexually appealing is rather insignificant. It has nothing to do with vocal prowess.
There is/was no need for them to even mention that she's never so much as been kissed. It doesn't mean anything.
Same goes for the blind kid on American Idol. I can sing in the dark.

Bit of a cringe moment there during the critique.
The guy says, "Just now as you were standing there saying you wanted to be like (I assume last years winner), everyone was laughing at you. They were." Oof. Kinda cheeky, yeah? Kinda rude. Glad she got the vote.
I predict however, she'll be a one hit wonder.

As in, "I wonder whatever happened to 'The Oneeders'"?
