Can Christian Bale be the next Harrison Ford ??

in the late 70's and early 80's ford was han solo in the star wars trilogies and indiana jones in that trilogy

he's very identifiable as both those roles but to my knowledge no one says oh man han solo is indy jones or vice versa

maybe they did early on when raiders first came out but not now




So fast forward to now

Bale is Batman in 2 movies, a 3rd may be on the way and he's beginning the terminator trilogy


so whens all said and done will he be able to pull it off as ford did or not ??

Bale's already been in American Psycho and The Machinist. He quit acting after those and is just taking the money now.

Harrison Ford was good as Indy and Han Solo. He's was the right kind of person for those roles.

Now, however, not so much. Bale is a better actor. Ford is more of a movie star.

I think the Bale/Ford analogy is a pretty good one. I think it will be hard to picture him as anything other than Batman or John Connor in 10 years.

And I think Bale is a good actor, but let's not throw him in with guys like Penn or De Niro. Who knows if he'll have staying power?

Can Christian Bale speak in a monotone and look annoyed in every movie like Harrison Ford? Sure.

Bale would probably be better off following the George Clooney model, do a popular movie, then do a "message" movie, then do a comedy. It could prolong his career. Of course Clooney is now advising the president on how to dress and act in front of the camera (fine, I suppose), the situation in Somalia (is that really necessary?) and the Palestinian issue (bad idea).

yeh they said that this was going to be a trilogy

i guess if it sucks at the box office it won't but the intent was for it to be a trilogy



so im guessing


first movie ... introduction to future earth after skynet, etc take over, movie prob ends with terminators, skynet, etc. coming to full power humanity looks doomed

2nd movie ... terminators skynet almost win and defeat and wipeout humanity
3rd movie ... humanity triumphs




i wonder if they'll show anything going back to past, like john sending his dad, etc

And no, I don't think so. I think Ford was at the right place and the right time with his limited talent and good looks. I don't think we will see someone with an analog of his career for a while.

well i remember reading or seeing somewhere that the new terminator movie was gonna be part of a trilogy


and i guess im just assuming theres gonna be a 3rd nolan batman
