I took some pics in Vegas on my digital camera in 16:9 aspect ratio. I am thinking about printing a few out and framing them as a gift. Can anyone recommend a photo size that will go well with this aspect ratio so the photo does not have to be cropped or changed in size?
Thanks.

16' by 9' would be perfect.

Thanks genius but that is not a standard frame size.

It doesn't really matter what size you print it at. You can print any image at any size but you won't have a symetrical border unless you trim the print paper. If you print your image vertically at the current aspect ratio, you'll have extra space on the left and right of the image using most standard paper sizes.

11x17 or 17x22 are standard sizes for that aspect ratio,
You may need to add a matte though.

what resolution are the pictures?
If they were taken with a video camera the picture capture often is not that great and larger prints won't look all that great.
You can print in 9x12 but even that will take quite a few inches off

resolution is 3328 x 1872
These aren't image captures, they are regular still frames. Its a Panasonic DMC-TZ3. Pretty decent camera I guess as far as Point and Shooters go.

you are fine printing them in poster size then. any place really. Just check that they let you fit it into frame so you can cut off the empty space.
Where do you normally print your pix?

This is the first time I've printed them. I usually just use Picasa to look at them. Any suggestions? What is poster size?

you can print at places like walmart (I like their one hour matte finish prints), walgreens (which you can order online via snapfish as well, their 1Hour gets delivered to walgreens) or a local camera shop.
You should check online if they will let you fit the image into a certain size or will auto crop instead.
Some places let you zoom out to fit it to your needs.
There are a lot of online places you can print at. I don't recommend the kodak picture print machines at places, their colors fade and prints lose contrast and saturation after a a while, at least that happened the last time I used one of them years ago... the one hour places have decent quality prints.
as far as size, you can chose a poster size format... they are usually larger than letter size.
walmart offers these:

Poster size and pricing:
Poster: 11x14 ($5.86 ea.)
Poster: 12x18 ($8.86 ea.)
Poster: 16x20 ($12.86 ea.)
Poster: 20x30 ($16.86 ea.)
I use walmart one hour for quick prints and an online pro printer for other work
