I'm pretty psyched for this. It looks tense, claustrophobic and plodding which I like. Also, I think Sam Rockwell is generally underutilized. I thought he was going to break a little more after Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

Nice! Thanks for posting. I've been waiting to see this trailer for a while.

That looks nuts. Is that Kevin Spacey as the voice of Sam?

Looks pretty good. I like the emoticons on the robot thing.

Yes, also this was directed by David Bowie's kid.

This was a good movie. I doubt it's for everyone, it's a character piece and it's mostly a one man show but Rockwell is awesome in his role. Spacey's role is his best in years. Quality special effects too.

It looks like 2001 crossed with Solaris (Tarkovsky's original). Fair to say?
I'm still considering heavily for this weekend - but I'm afraid I'm too familiar with the source material to find it fresh.

Not fair to say. There's no supernatural or alien component to the film.

Here is a great review of the movie - mildly spoilerish - unless you haven't seen the trailer.

"Moon" Is the Best Scifi Movie of Summer (http://io9.com/5302281/moon-is-the-best-scifi-movie-of-summer)

This is the season when movies are more likely to bash you over the head with giant robotic fists then they are to make you ponder the universe. Nothing against robotic fists, mind you. But what sets Moon apart from other space operas this summer is that it blows you away with original ideas and surprising characters. It's still action packed, violent, and intense, but on an individual scale. Instead of spaceship battles, you have one man in his lunar rover, tiny against the immense moonscape.

Thanks - I think I'm going to see it this weekend.

Saw it this afternoon. I was spectacularly bored. Rockwell is really a strong actor, I enjoyed his performance. Overall, there just wasn't enough there for me. I saw the swerve early on and from there out I was just killing time until credits.

I say rent Timecrimes instead. Its much more fun and treads similar ground.

Overall - I don't think Moon is even worth a rental.

EDIT: I should add that Clint Mansell's score was spot-on.

I saw this this weekend. I don't think there was supposed to be any kind of swerve or twist- I think it was very straighforward about what was going on in the movie, and let you realize it maybe a little faster than the characters instead of purposefully denying you or misleading you to have a really big reveal (which never works anyway.)

I think the focus of the story was supposed to be the relationships in the mining station, which could have had more depth for me.

Sam Rockwell was good; my favorite part of the movie was the use of models and physical effects instead of CGI. I definately could've done without the little coda at the end, it feels like it was tacked on to remove complaints of ambiguity.

I saw this movie last night, and I liked it a lot. I think there's something to be said for a movie that is not being talked about by EVERYONE and where every detail isn't given away before you watch it. I refused to even look at a trailer before seeing this movie, so I had absolutely no idea what to expect.

MOON...

Fuckin terrific movie starring Sam Rockwell...

In my opinion the best movie of the summer along with Star Trek...

Really a thinking man's sci fi and it was directed by Ziggy Stardust's son.

An indie film, but amust see for movie buffs...
