Listening to the replays, I reheard george romero.
Im looking for a list of good zombie flims to fill the void over my easter long weekend. Ill try the torrents for them. But lack of non-corporate video stores in my area I doubt ill find any to rent.

Personal Favorites:
Shaun of the Dead
Land of the Dead (i like the concept)
Dawn of the Dead (2004 & 1978)
Night of the Living Dead (1968 & 1990)
Gangs of the Dead (it's really fucking stupid, but you laugh at how bad it is)
I Am Legend (it just looks cool)
Redneck Zombies (it's awful, cheesey, and you wonder why you watch it, but you have to keep watching)

I've been hankering to finally see Zombi II, if not for the famous shark scene then for the score.

whether you call it "dead alive" or "braindead", Peter Jackson's zombie film that is officially the bloodiest movie ever made is the best Zombie movie of all time

A lot of people love Return of the Living Dead. I'm not quite so crazy about it but it is fun and worth checking out.
The first Evil Dead definitely has a zombie feel to it even if the monsters are demons. Speaking of which, Demons also falls in to the same mold.

Return of the Living Dead is one of my top 5 just because I first saw it when I was 13 and it scared the shit out of me. I didn't pick up on all the inherent humor. I just saw a bunch of smart fast motherfuckers that killed everything and never stopped.
Outside of that I'd go
Dawn of the Dead(2004)
Bio-Zombie
Night of the Creeps
Night of the Living Dead(original)
On a side note, I hated Wild Zero to fucking Death. Bad CG, a convoluted story, and fucking Guitar Wolf. Ugh.

heh, my stupid boardname is one of The Ogre's picks & I'm not even all that fond of the genre. It is a fun movie though. I saw Tokyo Zombie a few months ago & that was pretty good too. White Zombie is still my favorite of all, Bela Lugosi was the best.

Personally, out of the three original "Dead" movies, Day of the Dead was my favorite (not the recent remake).
They finally got the special effects to look great, and the story was better. Bub the Zombie was a great character too. That's not a knock on Dawn of the Dead, cause Ken Foree ran that movie like a marathon.
Redneck Zombies (already said) is a great attempt at a shitty movie, and ultra enjoyable (the acid autopsy scene still kills me.

Seriously. I expected shit but instead it was a blast. (It's a zombie movie so don't excpect cinema excellence, but it's a fun time)

3) Did he create followers? Totally!
4) Did others Die because of him? Fuck Yeah!

Lots of bases have been covered here. Never too late to suggest a movie...
Lucio Fulci's Zombie (tag line We Are Going To Eat You) delivers. Zombies, tits, sharks.
Dawn of the Dead (both)
28 Days Later
Shawn of the Dead
Dance of the Dead
House of the Dead, silly, but has Ron Howard's brother trying to keep up with an accent.
Chopper Chicks in Zombietown, silly, but has young Billy Bob Thornton and young Hal Sparks.
The Thriller video.

It me be blasphemy but I prefer the remake of Dawn over the original. I love them both but the action in the new one does more for me.
Day Of The Dead, the original, is great. The " remake " could be one of the worst movies ever made.
Night Of The Zombies was a good low budget Italian movie as was Zombie because the ending is so cool.
Return Of The Living Dead is awesome.

I prefer the social commentary, festering sense of dread and the humor of the original. Really, though, the two films are so different it's rather pointless to even compare them to one another.

Return of the Living Dead - had the ambulance scene that creeped me out. The 2nd ambulance shows up and the guys get out and start coming towards the back of the mortuary. Then wham - they get side slammed by a horde of zombies and go down. In 10 seconds, one of their heads is bitten into. awesome!
