To think he slammed Moby in one of his songs. Sounds pretty pathetic in retrospect.
M&M is going to prove to be a novelty NOT the visionary he was made into.

The only thing he ever did that I liked was the thing where he takes his daughter to throw his wifes body in the river. Other than that who gives a fuck?
Wait why am I even posting in this thread three times? He doesn't even warrant that much effort.

Kim Kardashian has already come out and pretty much said, Meh, to the whole thing. I think Eminem has used up his edgyness at this point and most of the people in the video will take it in humor rather than offense.
If anyone does complain, it'll be Sarah Palin.
John Galt

He's been gone for years and this is what he comes back with? I don't want to judge the new album by one song, but if his voice sounds as altered throughout, then it's pure shit.

But the thing is his sense of irony in making fun of the pretentiousness and absurdity of modern celebrity has no comedic impact. Society holds these people to no standards and have a total taste for shit in music and film. He can't parody how bad Bret Michaels is when he is terrible to begin with and people still watch his show.

last week Ronnie already said he cant stand musicians that say their own names in songs, Dave pointed to Eminem and Ron went off for a minute about how much he cant stand him. So judging by that, theres your reason why so many people are saying "trash". Yet Im sure those same people would jizz in their pants over a Crankcase single or some shitty 2U rendition. Eminem can rhyme better than 99% of people in game.

Yeah, that's why people say it sucks. Do you really think that's a good song? We're talking about this particular song and not Eminem's body of work or his rhyming talent. I'm basing it purely on my own subjective taste and not any pre-conceived notion of what I "should" think -- that song is awful. I will say that I probably should listen to the song without that cringe-inducing video to see if I can stomach it any better, because the visuals aren't doing it any favors.

No I'm not saying its a good song, but its the same exact single he's put out for every record. He did it with "My Name Is" on the Slim Shady LP, "The Real Slim Shady" on the Marshall Mathers LP, "Without Me" on the Eminem Show, and "Just Lose It" on Encore. Its supposed to be what it is, something Pop stations can play and entice people into buying the album. All Im saying is he's done the same thing every time yet now all of a sudden he sucks?
And I was only connecting the dots for FezsAssistant, i wasnt implying that i believed it.

No, it stinks because it's a cheesy gimmick and he's been on autopilot for years now. The guy is an incredibly talented MC but more and more he's been coasting on his stupid "I talk shit about shitty celebrities" schtick. The rhymes are weak, the targets are obvious as hell and what's with the stupid accent? And did Dr. Dre produce this? If so, steroids might have ruined his ear because it sounds AWFUL.

And each is progressively worse. "Just Lose It" was where he really jumped off the cliff in terms of these leadoff singles being awful, and then the crappiness of the album followed.

Eminem's career seems to follow a strict formula.
The first track of an album is always him making fun of other famous people.
He'll release a song about his daughter, a song about how it's hard to be him, a song with his buddies talking about how they haven't changed, a song about how much chicks wanna fuck him, and a song about his wife being a twat.
This album will also have a very introspective "Where I've been" type track.
I liked the video, but probably wouldn't listen to the song on it's own.

If Weird Al got Kathy Griffin pregnant and she aborted it but it was saved from the dumpster by the writers of Will and Grace where they raised it on a steady diet of Family Guy reruns - that would be this song.
