I recently aquired some movies but they are in .bin format. What free program is the best to convert it to .avi ?
Is it convertable? I have never dealt with a .bin file

I found this explination on a forum just doing a quick Google search.

This one is new to me. Seems a .bin is kinda just a mass storage file like a zip or rar. So it's not a video file specifically.
I have no experience so I'd say do the same Google search I did and start researching or follow this forum's instructions.
I just searched "convert .bin to .avi"

.bin is a binary file extension. It just means its contents are in binary code and should be interpreted as such. It doesnt really imply any sort of video format/encoding type. Not sure how you'd figure out what the contents are encoded as.:flush:

.bin is kind of like an ISO from what I understand this program should do the trick
http://www.magiciso.com/
MagicISO is a powerful CD/DVD image file creating/editing/extracting tool. It can open / create / edit /extract CD/DVD image files, and it can convert bin to iso and back. as well as make ISO file from DVD/CD-ROM or hard disk, and handle bootable information at meanwhile.

Did the download come with a .cue file to go along with the .bin, or do you just have the one?
