I sawit & rally didn't enjoy it..too much gay goin on..There was a few funny parts but overall I found it to be too much..& it is an NC-17 rating not an R..they showed full male frontal nudity.

I thought it was pretty hilarious. I gut-laughed numerous times. I haven't laughed that hard at a movie since, er, Walk Hard. I thought Borat was really overrated too so I went into this with expectations tempered. SBC is like a gutter-minded Peter Sellers; the man really is brilliant at disappearing completely into his comic creations and never showing a glimpse of breaking character.

I dunno if it's going to be a huge hit with the Hangover crowd, though, because the aggressively gay humor might make some of the macho high-fiving bros in attendance uneasy. I bet the uncomfortable silence will be thick enough to slice with some of the burly frat boys during their post-Bruno screening ride back to the dorm.

i saw it in a completely empty theater (well there were 2 old people at the beginning but they left immediately after the sex scene with the fire extinguishers. i think thats less than 10mins into the movie).

I agree that he should just get rid of trying to fit plots into this movies and just do pranks. I liked all the pranks on the regular people but i didn't laugh at all at any of the hollywood culture stuff. I think the last half of the movie was far superior to the first half (where they didn't do so much with plot). I think for Sasha Baron Cohen's next movie, since its probably going to be a brand new character, that he just is Sasha Baron Cohen and just does bits fucking with people as characters but inbetween them is just himself. Do it jackass style

I also don't see the big deal with everyone saying "it shouldve been NC-17". Most of the nudity was covered with black bars. Maybe i'm just desensitized to what others call "outrageous humor"

yeah, there is no reason "The Hammer" should be rated R

they just need to realize that the word "Fuck" isn't a big deal anymore. I think the rule is that you can say "fuck" 3 times in a pg-13 movie as long as the word isn't used sexually. So if you say "Fuck you" or "that fuckin' sucks" its cool for 3 times, but if you say "i fucked her last night" you automatically get an R.

however, i think any frontal nudity will get you an R immediately

i personally think you should be able to say "Fuck" in pg-13 movies and Bruno could've been rated R even without those black boxes over the peoples genitals. its not a big deal to me
