I'm an April Fool's Day Uncle.

I went thirty-six hours without sleep, twenty of which were spent in a maternity ward waiting room. The end result, as of 1:29 PM today, is my niece, young Ms. Marlowe. She's an adorable little tiny Laughing Buddha. Her arms are only slightly bigger than one of my fingers. I'm exhausted, I've only had a brief nap in the past two days and it was dark as hell in the birthing room, so these are the best shots I have as of now.

Niece number two, Aliza Jane was born early Monday morning. Marlowe has been staying with me until my Sister and Brother-In-Law get back into their house and get everything settled. She refuses to call her Sister by her name, instead referring to her on different occasions as cheeseburger, pineapple, toenail and french fry.

Aliza and her Mom are both healthy and doing well. She's considerably smaller than her Sister was when she was as a newborn and more alert and restless than Marlowe was her first few days. She's adorable though, and as long as she shares her Sister's sense of humor we're going to get along very well.
