Have you ever been to Stew Leonards in Yonkers? If so, you will know what I am talking about. I hate stores that force you to shop in a maze. Ikea is like that too. I want to be able to walk in and walk around without having to be forced in the direction the store wants you to go. There is a new Fairway market in Jersey and they decided to adopt this stupid system. The Fairway in Plainview is open and you can go from one area to another, but I see they are slowly trying to manipulate the isles, and I have a feeling they will make me shop in a maze, and if so, I swear I will never set foot in the store again.
Toys R Us was like that too for a while. I never shopped there either again.
Be warned, Retailers!

If you are smart you can cut through at ikeas. You don't have to follow the yellow brick road to get out.

The original Stews is even worse its very crowded and has no way to cut through. Our Local one in Danbury is bigger and more manuverable. Plaus you have the idiots stopping to watch the dancing milk cartons etc. Drive ya to drink

If you keep that threat you are shooting yourself in the foot, friend. Fairway is probably the best grocery store on Earth.

IKEA is the fucking worst. Twenty minutes in there and I feel like I'm drowning in cheap, tasteless and middle aged.

Not til you're 32.
I like to go up and down every aisle in the grocery store so I don't miss anything. Not a maze but dizzying.

i don't mind a maze as long as there are shortcuts like in ikea. ikea is so much easier to shop in when you know where you have to look & you know how to get there.
i was just in stew leonard's in yonkers last week & i didn't notice any short cuts. the store isn't that big so it didn't bother me that much.

The short cuts are 1. just past the vegetable section (specifically by the onions and expensive little potatoes) and 2. past the case where they keep the butter and yogurt and before you get to the bottled water. You're welcome.
Of course you'll miss some of my favorite parts (the cheese section, the sushi bar and the prepared foods).
