Super Mario Bros 3 Art Advice

I'm working on this new piece and I need me some outside opinions... I've looked at the possibilities too long and at this point they've blended into one... So pretty simple - if you had one of these two hanging on your wall, which do you prefer the one with the tanooki statue or the hammer bros one??

Ahh... Piranha plant... I wanted to go for all marios.... And I wanted to go for the boot too, but it wouldn't fit relative to the pixel sizes on the canvas I have. I'll post finished product as soon as it's done... half and half, but I'm going for the Tanooki Statue mario... I love the Hammer Bro, but i think it's boring without the actual hammer.
