Ben Weasel announced on his, The Riverdales, and SW's myspace that SW will be playing Austin in June and will announce two more shows for the fall. I have to assume that the shows will be Chicago and New York, but maybe R5 will pull a miracle and get them to philly. They say these are the only shows for 2009 but still it's a vast improvement over saying they will never play again.

They have a new album coming out, and are playing a few dates as well. Weasel and Vapid probably figured they might has well do some SW dates since they were booking shows anyway.

SW playing the troc for their only east coast show. This shit will be bananas, R5 continues to do insane things. And Lemuria is opening, which is fantastic. Now I dont feel so bad I didnt go to Chicago.

This was a really great experience. All the old punks acting young again, I saw a woman who was easily in her 50s and plenty of 30s-40s.

They played a lot of the first record and played a really relentless set. There were only two breaks, the first one happening around song 6 or 7. Band was tight and Ben sounded good. Notable exclusions were Celena, Veronica Hates Me, Homosexual and Automatic Rejector.

They announced during the second break that they were playing all of their songs, and wouldn't have an encore. True to that the set ended and they left. Everyone stood around until they started breaking the mics down. I've never seen a band not play an encore at the troc, it was a little strange. He also indicated that theyd be touring more regularly, and would probably be back in a year. Ben's baby was there.

Other notes, the girl from Lemuria is way cuter in person.
