He's like everyone else.

He can never live up to the hype his rabid fans say about him but to call him untalented isn't fair.

I own Ten and that was the beginning and the end of my interest in Pearl Jam. But that CD is very good.

There have been and will be better than them but they're OK.

My generations Rolling Stones. Put out a seminal record almost 20 years ago and their most recent album has some of their best work.

Constantly touring, constantly giving to their fans, socially conscious, true to their art, rejected even bigger stature because that wasn't what they were about, genuinely good people.

They are everything I would ever want a band to be. And Eddie is the leader of that band so the same for him, everything I'd ever want in a musician.

I've seen Pearl Jam twice. Not at all the best live show I've ever seen.

I would give it to either the Rolling Stones (great stage presence - wish I could have seen them 30+ years ago) or to Leon Redbone, simply because I dig how he still works the clubs.

No, just a thread to go along with the after show. And I really don't think he's all that talented. Pearl Jam never moved me; neither with their music nor Eddie's lyrics.

I always thought they were the least innovative of all the Seattle/grunge era bands and could never understand why Vedder touted himself as some sort of genius.

Sorry.

First of all, I DESPISED hair metal. Still do.

Secondly, most of the music I've gotten into the past 15 years or so have been outside of the rock and roll genre. Yeah, I dug early Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains and Nirvana (except for Cobain's absolutely AWFUL guitar tone) but most of the stuff is a retread of music I've already known.

I used hair metal as the starting point. The end of hair metal is when I started getting into music.

So you just basically don't dig non-classic rock and roll. That's fine. My dad doesn't either.

I've learned to never care what other people like when it comes to music. Some people are too hip to have a clue what's actually good, others too passive and only listen to the mainstream.

Who cares? I feel sorry for people who don't appreciate certain era's or genre's of music. And there is some music and am positive is great that other people don't get. All I can do is try to open their mind if they ask, but who cares if they don't.

I did not realize there were some big Pearl Jam fans here, anyway, after hearing the after show, I decided to send something to Dave and Deb. Now seeing this post, I thought I would share it here as well.

One of his concerts from his tour last year in Berkeley.

Enjoy to those who like him, and to those who don't, give it a listen and maybe it will surprise you, or maybe it won't.
