Was skiing in near Montreal and is now in critical condition, with head trauma (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b104720_natasha_richardson_hospitalized_after.html ). thats never good.

I never wanted to ski when I was young, because I was afraid of potential leg injuries (bicycle racing enthusiast). Then Sonny Bono and that Kennedy guy got killed so close together by bashing their heads in on trees. I'm glad I stayed off the skis.

Skiing, like Rollerball, is a death sport.

I hope she comes through this OK. If she hit a tree, that tree should be cut down, burned and then pissed on.

Nah, let the poor tree live - it did nothing wrong but bring another dummy to an abrupt halt.

If you insist on cutting it down, then make it into another pair of skies for the next well-off asshole to go flying down the side of a snow covered mountain.

Much like Christopher Reeve, who destroyed his spine and brought about his own lingering death by being thrown off a horse while riding it for "sport", I have no sympathy for entitled idiots who bring about their own pain, suffering, and demise.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for vegetation like you like you. If you let my wife live now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will chop you down.

je-sus dude. That rant is like me on steroids.

That being said, I disagree. There's a major difference between Reeve's accident and this.

There's no "borderline" animal cruelty involved in skiing. And skiing just ins't for rich entitled people.

While my heart goes out to her immediate family, and i pray for her recovery, something about wealthy people being injured as a result of their comfortable, entitled lifestyle makes it hard for me to feel toooooo bad.

Like JFK, Jr....oh, yeah? Killed when your private jet went down?

Sonny Bono...oh yeah? Died while skiing with the family?

Now, if a hard working immigrant mother of 4 was mowed down on her way between jobs, then youd get some serious empathy from me. But if your death is a result of your own high falutin' lifestyle, i say " tough titties."

Skiing can be dangerous? So people that ski deserve to get hurt? Horseback riding too? Wow. I feel for your kids. That has to be the most boring fucking mindset ever.

Ive done both and these are extremely fun things. Theres always some risk involved in anything that exhilarating.

But the people I was calling closed minded was the ones that said anyone that does them deserves to get hurt. Theres a difference. If people dont like to try different things it doesnt matter to me. But to say someone like Christopher Reeve deserved to be paralyzed because people shouldnt ride horses? Was I wrong in my interpretation of that?

Wow - I just caught this story and it seems that there are some seriously mixed reports concerning Natasha Richardson's condition. She might be OK, or she might be Brain Dead. There were some reports that she was dead, but it was amended to brain dead.

There doesn't seem to be much solid information right now. Either way, I am sorry for Miss Richardson and her family - especially if the worst reports are true.

Addendum - wwtdd.com is where I saw the first report of brain death and Google search brought up more conflicting reports.

Concussions and skull fractures are super sneaky. You get up and walk away from a motor vehicle accident like the stud you are, and half an hour later you've got Mr. Potato Head brains.

Hope they spotted it quick and treated any brain swelling in time.

Sources close to Tony-award winning actress Natasha Richardson tell FOXNews.com that the 45-year-old actress is brain dead, and being transported back to New York City before she is to be taken off life support.

Richardson's condition deteriorated following a skiing accident on Monday on a beginner's trail at the Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, Canada.

A spokeswoman for Montreal's Sacré-Coeur hospital, where Richardson was transferred after being sent initially to nearby Centre Hospitalier Laurentien in Ste-Agathe, said a family representative was expected to release a statement Wednesday.

Richardson, who is married to actor Liam Neeson, was reported in serious condition with a head injury by multiple outlets early Tuesday.

"We know that she has had an accident but we really do not know any more details," said Kika Markham, who is married to Richardson's uncle, Corin Redgrave. "We are very concerned."

Neeson left the set of a movie he was filming in Toronto to be by his wife's side.

"Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," a rep for his film said in a statement to Canadian TV. "We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family."

Neeson's reps told FOXNews.com they had "no information at this time regarding this matter."

Mont Tremblant said Richardson fell on a beginner's trail during a ski lesson and later reported not feeling well. She was not wearing a helmet, nor was one required, they said.

"She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor," said a statement from the resort.

Mont Tremblant spokeswoman Catherine Lacasse said Richardson was getting a private lesson and that she said she was fine at first.

"An hour later she said she didn't feel well. She had a headache, so we sent her to the hospital," Lacasse said. "There were no signs of impact and no blood, nothing."

Richardson, is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson. She married Neeson in 1994 after they both appeared in the film "Nell." The couple have two sons.

In January, Richardson and her mother played the roles of mother and daughter in a one-night benefit concert version of "A Little Night Music," in New York.
