How in the blue hell did Outkast rank higher than Lynyrd Skynyrd and Pink Floyd?

I used to get so aggrivated over lists like this, now I just laugh! It is fun to argue over, however.

Special thanks to Lt. Rooster for this masterpiece!

Of course, I don't really know what their criteria for the poll were, so judging their choices is perhaps a bit presumptuous. But that's never stopped me before.

Actually, as lists go, I don't find this one too bad. I'm surprised Blondie, Kiss and especially Rage Against the Machine are so high (c'mon, they're intense and they're song lyrics are actually about something, but it seemed like every tune ended up sounding the same). And no Doors or Allmans? Pink Floyd is undoubtedly a great band, but after the early Seventies, they were essentially reduced to providing backing music for their light show - they stopped improvising.

These lists are pretty useless in the end, but I always check them out anyway!

There are many arguements w/ the list. But I find it funny that Run-Dmc ranks # 14, but Aerosmith doesn't make the list.

Pink Floyd- 49
kraftwerk - 24
nirvana - 5
patti smith group- 22

I don't see how anyone could argue with this list.. it seems to be the most accurate thing I have ever seen.. I mean with the exception that Daft Punk and Snow were left off this list... everything else seems to make sense.

That informer song ruled... definately makes him deserve to be at least # 4...
These lists suck.

OK, we all agree this list sucks... the order is rediculous, for the most part, but alot of the bands truly deserve to be there... here's what I think should be done...

Outkast - are you fucking kidding me... replace with the Eagles
New Order - ick... one hit wonders... replace with Nine Inch Nails
Pearl Jam - hacks... replace with the guy they emulate, Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Sex Pistols - were a joke... replace with DEAD KENNEDY's
Kraftwerk - who listens to this crap... give me MINISTRY
Fela Kuti and Afrika70/Egypt80 - who???? dammit, i say Butthole Surfers
Pavement - OK, who stole my pot & made this list up... replace with Mot™rHead

f'n moron calling pearl jam hacks? they were a popular band who tried to fight ticketmaster, stopped making video's because they were against MTV, and refused to put out certain songs on their albums because they did not want to sell out. they are the money and will not get the respect they deserve until much later, just like the doors. pearl jam rules

it's true,

How about the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ALICE IN CHAINS. Come On SPIN, SPIN ON THIS!

Oh Yeah, and the one band I'm sure we were All thinking about but forgot to mention for the #1 spot, the one and only, garage band from Flint,
the group you been waiting to see:
GRAND FUNK RAILROAD

If they had named this "50 most influential", as O&A suggested, than I could let some of these bands slide.

Glad to see Nirvana ranked so high, but KORN??? WTF??? Korn doesn't deserve to be on any list of "Best" anything. Korn is representative of just about everything that is wrong with rock music today.

AND I'm pissed that NiN, Tool, and STP were left off this list. They're all better than Kunta Kinte or whatever that guy is called.
