It looks bad and I'm a fan of That 70s show. The characters [in That 80s Show] don't look as interesting, relatable, fun to watch and far more cliched than those in T7S. It also looks like it's just going to goof on the 80s instead of having some sort of respect (how one could have respect for the 80s though...) for the decade which that 70s show seems to have.

As for my 80s look back/satire, I still prefer American Psycho.

Of course I'll give it a shot when it comes out.

I'm kind of looking forward to this show. I remember enough about the 80s that this show may appeal to me.

BTW, for some bizarre reason, the punk girl in this kinda makes me hot.

I guess I was too young to appreciate the 80s being born in 82. But looking back through history and fads and whatnot, the 80s seem like the biggest waste of a decade there ever was.

In the end all that will matter is if it's funny. It's coming in the middle of the tv season, so it's not a show that the network probably thinks a lot of anyway, otherwise it would have premiered at the beginning. And anyone who thinks "that 70's show" is special because it's set in the 70's is mistaken...it's always the cast and crew that make a show funny, rarely the setting.

Oh, I agree with you sunny. If you think about it, the 70s has kind of little to do with That 70s show. it's set in it and they have the clothes and some references but it doesn't focus that much on the 70s. The characters have great chemistry, it's well written and it has Kevin McDonald as a recurring character.

The 80s show from the commercials seems to just take the 80s and make as many references as they can.

Yeah, nothing wrong with FOX. Most of the network shows I watch are on that station (not counting sports).

FOX: 12 (Futurama, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Malcom in the Middle, 70's Show, Undeclared, 24, Grounded for Life, Bernie Mac, Titus, Family Guy, MADtv)
NBC: 5 (Law & Order, Friends, er, SNL. Conan)
CBS: 4 (King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, C.S.I., Letterman)
WB: 2 (7th Heaven, Dawsons Creek)
ABC: 1 (The Practice)
UPN 1 (Smackdown!)

I agree, say what you will about FOX but they have they ARE the best network, at least for primetime. Except for The Job (returning the 16th) and Alias (great show) I don't think I watch anything on ABC primetime. NBC I only watch Law & Order occasionally and that's it for primetime. CBS- CSI.

I think I watch UPN more than some of the big networks in the way of primetime. weird

When i was in California eariler this month I had an opportunity to see a taping of the show in person. It has its moments, but it just doesn't have enough "legs" to run on. Its not going to last long, the 70's worked since they had a good young teen oriented cast. Also many people can relate with what went on the 70s than the 80s.

To me the 80's sucked ass. I was born in 1981.

But i do agree Chyler Leigh ("Tuesday") is hot. (in person too.)

if you were born in '89, then you have no meaningful memory of the 80's as an era. it was over by the time you started to develop a personality.
I was born in '74. That's why the 70's mean nothing to me.
