Here is my solution to making college football the greatest sport ever.

Week 1
128 team double elimination playoffs start. (You'll have to bump up a couple division two schools). Use USA todays's sagatarian rankings for seeding.

The winner would only have to play a maximum of 8 games.

After teams are eliminated they keep playing teams that were eliminated in the same phase of the bracket and continue playing each other in ladder competition format.

Every single game of college football would be important and fascinating. TV ratings would go through the roof and more people would follow more then their team or conference.

That's the worst idea I've ever seen.

Nick's an ideas man. Retarded ideas but ideas none the less.

I can't believe I wasted the minute of my day to actually read that.

Yeah those TV ratings would be through the roof when you get to the eliminated teams and Florida is playing Wisconsin-Milwakee.

That is TiVo worthy.

God for bid you miss out on your current riveting schedule Florida vs Kentucky (63-5), Florida vs the Citadel (70-19), and Florida vs Hawaii (56-10). I think even your TIVO changes to another chanel when those classics occur. Nice arguement.

You mean the Sagarin ratings? You fuckin goof

Yeah but for those 3 you mention I also get UF versus LSU, Auburn , UGA, FSU and possibly Miami.

In your proposal it's doubtful I'd get 2 of those games.

And to counter again while I may not wanna see UF/The Citadel in week 3 in the current atmosphere I could instead watch USC/Oh St.

In your scenario I'd get UF/Wisconsin-Miwaukee or Texas/Rhode Island.

Out of curiousity, Florida's schedule would look like this if the highest seed won every single game.

1- Army
2- Arkansas
3- BYU
4- California
5- Penn St
6- Texas
7- Southern Cal
8- Southern Cal

Revising the plan, the playoffs would not start until week 4 , to let everyone have three of their traditional rivalry games.

But the point your missing is that for fans that watch the games it's not just about who wins the National Title.

Plenty of fans follow teams that haven't had legitimate shots at the title in years and the thing they enjoy is watching their tams play good teams.

Vandy fans get much more excited about the prospect of playing and beating a UF than they would at playing a Delaware.

I guess that is why I'll never love college anywhere near as much as I love the pro's. Some fans apparently are satisfied with an exhibition season. I did not understand that point previously.

i love how he fixes it by removing 5 games from each schedule too. You cant get a playoff cause they make too much money how it is now, so lets just propose cutting half the games
