only two at the moment.
might invest in another pair tomorrow.
Five - 3 for work and 2 for the weekend. When they get old the weekend jeans become work jeans and the cycle continues.
I like working a system.

I meant to click 7.
2 pair of Levis and one pair of Austin's for my tennis shoe days.
3 pair of Wranglers for working out doors in because they fit nicely over work boots.
2 pair of nice Wranglers to go with my fancy boots for the special occasion.

3 pairs of jeans
At least seven pairs of jeans... wear one pair (the old comfy pair) and only don one of the others when the comfy one is being washed...

Im pathetic - i have around 13 pair, but they span sizes 34-50.
over the last 10 yrs I have gained weight taking me through all these sizes,
and i have a pair or two in each size.
Im currently a 40 and just bought a pair tonight at Conway (Wrangler stretch) for $12 bucks.

and why are they called pairs, theres only one
something consisting of or regarded as having two parts or pieces joined together: a pair of scissors; a pair of slacks (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pair).
same with a pair of binoculars.

Agreed. I love searching out the old Levi's commercials on Youtube.
This month is actaully my 10 year anniversary working for Levi's. Great company with such a rich history. While in San Francisco a few years ago we were given a special "archives" tour. Linen gloves and all. Very cool. A pair from the 1870's was purchased for $46,000on Ebay by LS&Co. Seeing them up close gives you goose bumps. Many from that era were found in Nevada mines. The distressed/whiskering look happened naturally back then from a cowboy riding in the sun all day. Some you can put on a rack today and they wouldn't look out of place.
There's still a pretty big vintage Levi's market out there. Anything with the capital letter "E" on the pocket tab is from pre 1971 and probably worth some money.
