Amazing interview. Easily one of the top 5 things I've seen on TDS.

You know, occasionally you'll have someone made a snide comment about people using TDS as a real news source, but Stewart gave Cramer the grilling that "real news" shows should have given him years ago. The "real news" is too busy worrying about some whore who spat 8 kids out of her massive cunt, though.

How could CNBC let Crammer walk into that bear trap.
That was just BRUTAL
It shows that there is nothing more important for the stock market to have the uptick rule back in place... it is what almost drove SIRI out of business and is killing our economy.

It also yet again throws a spanner into the dismissals that TDS is just "liberal." The politics of the people involved are clearly to the Left, but they do something that no other conservative "infotainment" show does, and that's go after their own. As much as they'll dress down Fox News for their shitty journalism, look how often they take CNN and all the NBC's to task, too. You'll NEVER see the Right pundits do the same.

That's good, if you're a fan of objectivity. I personally like that about the Daily Show myself. But it also presents the Left as being a weak, divided front versus a congealed united front that the Right pose. If you can't get anybody to agree enough to go along with you, or you have to stop what you're doing every 5 minutes to get everybody calmed down and working together again, that's ineffective governing. It also presents the news sources that we're all talking about here as prone to self-important bickering.
Which is probably why right-wing movements usually are able to withstand the withering incompetence, earth-shattering hypocricy, and tongue numbing stupidity that occurs whenever they fuck up so much better than the left.
Just speaking from a historical perspective.

I don't want objectivity because I don't think it it's possible for someone to be truly objective. What I want are for figures in the media to place at least some value in the idea of the quality of what they do. I would like Right pundits and more Left pundits to clal out their peers who fuck up. They're not the parties. I don't care what image they project on the Right or the Left politically...I care about them having the stones to call out people in their business when they get things obviously wrong or say/do really stupid things.

I think that the only medium these days where you can honestly put your values regarding quality to the test is comedy. All other forms are infested with a bunch of ass-kissing and check-writing.
Which is why TDS is good for presenting the news- as a comedy show, it's the last honest media we've got- which would explain why people find it so refreshing and those who don't like it hate it so much - honesty inflames more than anything else. Satirizing the news but actually becoming a form of news in the process is a brilliant move.

Since we're talking about Cramer vs. Stewart, which is erupting over the economic problems we've been facing...
Does anybody think that some of the figureheads in the media have been negatively influencing the economy with doom-saying self-fulfilling prophecy predicting? I'll just leave it at that without further explaining- since it's open to interpretation what that means.
