I've said this before. As much as I like Al, Billy, Dubs, etc., I think Dave is the best on-air staff member the show has ever had.

I prefer Al because people I loved were still alive then.
How long before we can add Chris Stanley to the list?
Does he have to become more integrated with the show (and the audience) to be considered a "great" producer?

I agree. I love Dave and what he brings to the show, but Al being trashed on by the listeners and Ron and Fez were their greatest moments. Dave's stupidity is funny but he's too aware of the joke sometimes.

Al made a great target but he brought little to the air, I was never a huge Dukes fan. I even became a big fan during his time too, I just couldn't get behind him. He's an OK caller now but I just didn't feel him on the show.

I guess The Midnight Rider would go in the other category?

I love ESD as a part of the show, but Al Dukes gave the guys a villain to face every day. Not to mention, the "I'm gay" soundboard still makes me crack up.

Earl's music contributions make him the best producer. Dave is the best 3rd mike.

do you think thats really fair mikey? i mean EVERYONE else had to compete with FEZ, dave has to compete with dead air...
and i doubt any producer has had as much on air time with ron then dave either, due to the same fact.

Was he a redhead as well? Or does he have an orange complexion, much like Tony Kornheiser?

He had a lucky orange shirt that he wore when he opened for Jim Norton and got massacred by the crowd. At some point afterwards, he was dubbed the Big Orange Ball of Failure.

He drinks.
It was probably a "black out vote".
Not to be confused with a vote for anybody but Earl.

He deserves to be on the list but I would still have to vote for the fabulous Al Dukes!

I loves me some East Side Dave. Great little quips and I kinda like that weird way that he speaks. It's just funny.
But... I voted for Al Dukes because, overall, that was just a great time for the show. He brought drama... comedy... and confusion.

This poll is too biased- there are people who never heard Al Douche and Dead Air Dumpy. The question should be open to people who've actually heard all of the producers.
By the way, was Joe Poo considered a producer?

Al Dukes was producer during a Golden Age of the R&F Show. Shows from his time unfortunately don't compare to what is on the air today.

Just for some Billy Staples love, does anyone remember when someone kept messing with his IMDB page? The biography was ridiculously funny.
