Fuck this is gonna be tough.

But I'll say 'It makes no difference'

I may have to go with Long Black Veil.

Shit, maybe Ophelia. This is the toughest choice of the day.

If I had choices!

I don't think that counts, they didn't write it, just covered it.

But it's still my favorite song that they put out. If this is a requirement, then no one could have a favorite Frank Sinatra song.

I think the difference being that a lot of Sinatra's songs were written specifically for him, whereas this song was not written for the band and most likely more closely associated with Johnny Cash (not his song either).

I agree The Band does a phenomenal version of this song, I just don't think it should be allowed so there

I still love you:wub:

The Band is another one of those groups (like Queen when I first got to college) that I had heard of but couldn't name you one of their songs just a few years ago. Then when I finally watched the Last Waltz it made me realize I did know a few songs & turned me on to a few more. I think the one I find myself humming or singing under my breath most often has to be "Up on Cripple Creek." And since my spinal cord injury, when I catch myself singing/humming it, it never fails to make me chuckle just a little. Which I guess is kind a sick, but whatever...if you can't laugh at yourself who can you, right?

Rick Danko's vocal on "It Make's No Difference" is too achingly beautiful.

Perfect, really.

Although, I LOVE all the other choices too!

I picked it makes no difference on this poll. But you gotta go beyond just "The Best of The Band" and what's seen on the last waltz. Chest Fever and When I Paint My Masterpiece are amazing songs.
