View Full Version : XMRO Not Working?

Anyone else trying to listen to the replay of R&F right now on XM Radio Online? I know the online service is undergoing some updates right now, but every other channel is working fine and 202 is all static...did I miss something?

I just posted this in the listening thread, but XM is upgrading the XMRO right now. The 128k is in effect and being upgraded across the channels as we speak.

I don't remember Staticy the Clown ringing the character door bell today. Not sure it will help but XaMp is pretty good at avoiding the online problems. Then again, if they are upgrading the service you might have to wait until the weekend to hear today's show.

The 128k stream on the channels that do work sound great though, only if the sat SQ sounded anywhere close to this..

Which channels are streaming in 128k right now?
Most all, some talk channels aren't even working 202, Oprah etc (rock channels I listen to).. If you use the XM Radio website streaming and go into settings make sure it's set at 128k

My XMRO is not working, and of course the phones are not active until tomorrow.
Unless you have re-sucscribed you are probably out of luck. I have maintained my subscription for more than three years and do all of my listening via my computer. Now they want to charge more per month for me to listen to what I have been keeping my subscription for.
Fuck them, the only reason I kept my sub is to listen online, now Mel decides I need to pay extra to keep a sub I don't really need anyway.
Suspect Chin

I guess I have to upgrade to Premium Online listening to stream at 128k. Too bad the website is also undergoing maintenance right now. First lesson of running a successful online company...give your customers the ability to spend their money at your site.
Suspect Chin
03-10-2009, 08:38 PM
Brilliant idea Mel to do all your maintenance at the exact same time as you change your online service. You should have known that procrastinators (like me) would wait until the last minute to upgrade then impulsively try to upgrade...only to find that I cannot do it.

Will the 32k stream still be available through XMRO? I don't care about the sound quality, but I am concerned about dragging my office's resources if I can only use a 128k stream.

I re-upped yesterday and now it's telling me I don't have online. What the fuck did I get a 1-year sub for then?
I haven't upgraded to the extra $3/mo., but I'm listening online now at 32 Kbps. The settings don't allow me to change the quality anymore. Instead, it says "Your package does not include premium online listening."
Do they still let you listen at 32Kbps and the extra $3/mo is for "premium" service?

From XM411 yesterday: http://www.xm411.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=34142
Well, some good news for all the dev's who created their own apps. I found a url that returns the same channel listing as the one that is now giving the access denied errors.
Once logging into XMRO, you can access the full channel listing from:
http://www.xmradio.com/padData/pad_provider.jsp?all_channels=true
and the single channel from:
http://www.xmradio.com/padData/pad_provider.jsp?channel=XX
I updated my 2 apps and everything seems to be working good now. (for now anyways)
From "buildagaget.com"
http://www.buildagadget.com/Blog/archives/431
Today Sirius XM changed all of their player links and broke every 3rd party player in existence. Every. 3rd. Party. Player. We were not happy and neither were quite a few of you who wrote in. We have good news though, the 1.9.1 version of the gadget switches the links and player around and should work for everyone. We currently have the Vista version up and running and the Google version should get fixed pretty soon as well.
Problem is - I use xamp, the yahoo widget and another one to listen to the shows (I am also a lifetime subscriber - I just HATE the web page, don't have an iphone, and am not in my car all day). Hoping someone will fix at least a couple of thos programs with the new links.

Here's what really pisses me off. I have two Squeezeboxes - the Boom is a (obviously) a boombox and the Duet is a home stereo version that allows me to stream my music and internet radio stations. BOTH come with Sirius pre-installed but NOT XM. Logitech allows for third-party plug-ins for these devices, so I have been able to listen to XM until yesterday. Obviously, Logitech and Sirius have a contract, yet they desire to freeze out XM?

Does MusicDock let me listen to my XM account on my cellphone ? Does it need to be a smartphone or will any phone with internet access work ?

FYI, but last Sunday SiriusXM changed how there streams are put out, and that knocked out pretty much every non-SiruisXM streaming app/widget/software. Visit the developer's website for any updates. I used the XMRO Gadget from Build A Gadget (the best for what I need). (http://www.buildagadget.com/Support-Product.php?Code=XM) I had to go to the website and get the update, the software update function did not work.

yup the guys that fixed the Yahoo Widget did come out with a uXM replacement yesterday and I loaded it today and got it to work. I am listening to 202 on my blackberry again right now. Took a bit of work but it does work in place of uXm getting the streams to ORB.
Assuming you are a bit tech saavy, you download the program and install it. Once it is running point your browser @ the url listed in the readme and then you can copy the stream links to put in your ORB configuration. Change the http to mms to make it work on the blackberry. I also changed the default port that the app is set to to match the port uXM used but that shouldn't really make a difference.

You are most welcome. They have now posted my instructions on their page as well and tole me they plan to update the next version to take the 'mms' into account for Orb users.
I figured it out when trying to use some other app to get the stream to my blackberry that the mms link seemed to be needed to make it work. mms is short for 'microsoft media server'
