I was watching The Best of Phil Hartman SNL DVD the other day.
They can never top Phil as Bill Clinton, walking around McDonalds, stealing everyones food. Ever.
A close second would have to be the Steroid Call in show with Emilio Estevez (and I think Jay Mohr). Everyone had really tiny legs and bad acne, and would scream at anyone that would call in.

I'm too young to appreciate the goodness that was SNL in the 90's since I only vaguely remember Farley, Myers and Hartman.
Will Ferrell's Boss from Hell bit made me laugh my ass off. I think I just want to murder people with tridents too. And Harry Caray vs. Jeff Goldblum.

Not sure it is long enough to qualify but I always thought the clip of the Steroid Olympic or the Drug Olympics where the guys arm rip off when he lifted the weights was one of the best. And Dan Akroyd as the head of the company that made dangerous toys was as great.

THIS is the funniest SNL skit of all time and I can't find the clip online
It was Tom Hanks hosting and the skit was him in charge of a "Mr. Belvedere Fan Club". So hes holding a meeting and everyone in the meeting is a psychopath. Chris Farley wants to kidnap Mr. Belvedere and keep him locked in a giant glass jar so girls would think hes cool, Sandler needs to masturbate at the end of every episode, Phil Hartman is just a psychopath. Its great
heres the transcript of the skit (cuz i can't find it online) but even reading it you could see its the funniest skit they ever did

My favorite SNL skit ever was Tim Meadows playing Tiger Woods - and Tracey Morgan playing Tiger's father Earl - and them telling the story about Tiger learning to play golf...
SNL basically erased this from the internet. I have actually searched for it on all the video sites but cant find it... I would love to see it again if anyone can dig it up...

I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but in the long storied history of SNL, how can anyone pick a segment with Tracy Morgan and Kate Hudson (Kate Hudson?) or Tim Meadows?
It's interesting how everyone gets attached to their own generations cast and bits. Me, I have to get all Blowhard on you here, because I thought Season 2 was the strongest cast ever, and I'd pick the "Hello Mrs. Loopner" sketch with Dan Ackroyd as the plumber with his ass hanging out as the funniest I ever saw.
But what about Eddie Murphy as James Brown in the hot tub? Or Phil Hartman as Caveman Lawyer? Farley dancing around as a Chippendale?

For sheer laugh-out-loudery, I'd probably go with that very first DEBBIE DOWNER sketch featuring Lindsay Lohan.
http://www.truveo.com/SNL-Debbie-Downer/id/1692905393
I love it for two reasons: it's a funny premise that's executed quite well. And... because in the show's 35 year history... there's never been another sketch that caused so many cast members to lose it. If you watch closely, you can see Horatio pick up a piece of toast from his meal and use it to wipe the tears from his cheeks. The whole thing is gloriously entertaining.
__________________
There's a seldom seen CLASSIC sketch of Chris Parnell bringing his new girlfriend (Juliana Margulies from ER) to meet his family. It's only their 2nd or 3rd date. As it turns out... Parnell's character has a rare disorder that caused him to have soft teeth and he is unable to chew solid food. His parents chew food in their mouths to soften it, and spit it into his mouth.... repeatedly. Will Ferrell (playing the father) does a brilliant job of acting like this behavior is perfectly normal... perfectly healthy.
Of course...This sketch goes on for quite a while and the crowd really helps to roar it along. It ends with Juliana joining them in this bizarre practice by pre-chewing some apple pie and spitting into Chris Kattan's mouth. ( Parnell's little brother). Crowd goes nuts.

I was TREMENDOUSLY disappointed by "The Rock Obama" sketch last night. I had mentioned Dwayne Johnson probably being able to pull off an excellent parody of Obama merged with his "Rock" character - I had been saying it since Obama spoke at the convention in 2004.
Instead, they pulled off this mish-mash of "The Incredible Hulk" with the Rock being not funny, and Samberg getting the bigger laughs at Rahm Emmanuel.
Does McMahon owe the rights to the Rock character and he can't even be "the rock"?
