I need a good scare so throw some ideas at me. I'd prefer not to have to read subtitles but will if you think its a good sphincter tightener.

There are some obvious ones that have already been watched...i.e. The Shining, The Exorcist, Se7en (which is almost due to be watched again), etc.

I'll tell you a movie that freaked me out, and I didn't think it would.

1408 with John Cusack. The way everything turned terrible so fast, it gave me a for real horrifying acid flachback.

I was also watching it in a hotel room. That might have had something to do with it.

Also, since The Exorcist has already been mentioned I'll go with "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark". It's a tv movie from the 70s, but I remember it scaring the crap out of me as a kid. You can watch it for free on Youtube.
