We always have preconceived notions about what we like or dislike. We will discover new things for either side along the way, but movies are ultimately rather finite creatively and unless someone has seen no films, they're not going to be able to watch a film truly objectively.
If you're talking about people seeing the film who have no idea who you are or your past antics, OK, fine.
There's not even an amusing animation to make this clip seem light-hearted and bearable?
I'll never make it through the whole thing.

You were given complete freedom to answer questions, defend your choices, and make a solid pitch for your movie. You simply did not do that. In fact, I have heard people with head trauma answer questions more clearly and coherently.
And if you say "I was going with the bit," then you have absolutely nothing to complain about. You made the choice to play a character and sacrificed defending your film for the bit.

You're right I made the choice to go with the bit....but I didn't sign any contract that said I couldn't complain.

Paul, I'd like to offer my services: I have no personal feelings about you whatsoever. And I have a film education. So I could give a solid impartial review, which could in turn bring you more sales. However I'm a recent college grad and unemployed, so I'd need a free copy.
Send a free copy and get a review from someone you don't know: it sounds like a winning situation.

That was phenomenal radio.
I'd feel honored if someday a comic genius like Louis C.K. tore to ribbons something I poured my blood, sweat and tears into.
You have to understand, Paul, that it just wouldn't have been entertaining radio if the break had been all about giving you the benefit of the doubt on what you tried to accomplish artistically with the project. O&A is the lion's den and not just anybody gets the designation of being fresh meat for them to pounce on for an entire satellite show.

Not many of the internet movie nerds have bragging rights to the existence of a feature length film fit for distribution under their belt. I'm not going rip anybody for walking the walk even if I think their traveled path resulted in a venture that wasn't worthwhile. Everybody online is an armchair Kubrick when they're snobbishly turning their noses up at stuff that doesn't meet their rigid standards of acceptance even though they would never have the resourcefulness, assertiveness or constitution to take command of a film set.

My feeling about Gap was that I was trying to make a film that I had never seen and It was a very specific thing and I achieved the goal of making that thing. so I am happy with the film. It may not be the easiest thing to understand or appreciate but I understand it. Hopefully it will find it's audience.

an actual review....about time someone actually sat down and watched the fucking thing
As a fan of horror movies I can honestly say that the horror genre is in a lull right now mainly due to PG-13 ratings and the never ending remake pool. GAP was a refreshing viewing experience mainly because it was so raw and so intriguing. GAP has that magical substance that many of the horror films today lack. I highly recommend this movie because it feels like a throw back to the days when the horror genre wasn’t afraid to take risk.

I made it 30 minutes in and I can't watch it anymore. It's so bad. You didn't put any thought into making this movie. I think you liked the idea of having made a movie but you didn't actually want to put the painstaking effort into making one, so you just threw something together as fast as you could, rushed it out, and now all you do is make excuses for it. It was shot in three days, its an anti-film, it's not meant for everyone to enjoy. The concept of the movie is boring, but beyond that its not done well at all. It's completely inorganic, everyone sounds like their reading lines to one another. We have no idea how you capture and tie up these people and why when you kill the first girl there's no blood on the couch afterward. I've seen college freshmen upload more creative, engaging, and aesthetically better videos onto youtube. The fact that you thought that this film was worthy of months of promotion on the Ron & Fez show, a premiere at the Hard Rock, and a DVD release baffles me. The whole thing is tragic. Not the film itself, but the entire storyline from the first mention of GAP on Ron & Fez to the finished product is just a sad story. Maybe I'm a rube in the whole bit is radio gold, but I never want to watch another minute of this film again. That's my objective criticism.

The unfairness of Louis CK tearing Paulo became apparent to me today. Louis CK is the best at talking in the history of the planet. Everytime he speaks about anything I instantly agree and accept all his information as fact. His boat stories were amazing to me. That being said I'll never watch Gap he said it was crap so it must be.

I wouldn't call my attempt half-hearted since I couldn't even make it through half the movie. But in order to give the effect that a movie look rough, raw, and thrown together, you can't actually just throw it together. The movie is not pleasant to watch, and its not because of the subject matter of because of a desired effect, its because of the shoddy production and minimal amount of care that went into it.

I hope you can find some consolation in the fact that you were the centerpiece of what has to be one of the Top 10 breaks in O&A history even if Louis CK's merciless critique of your magnum opus contributed to a groupthink mentality where everyone who saw it thereafter was out to get it. Hope might also spring eternal from the example of Paranormal Activity which nobody knew what to do with after its original unveiling and is now taking off on a wide scale two years after the fact.

I just want to point out that perhaps you should take Louis CK's advice. Although the delivery of his critiques might not have been sensitive, he had a lot of really good points about how you shot stuff and your story writing. Perhaps instead of thinking of yourself as a victim you can think of the how many people that are making movies that would have loved to have been roasted the way you were and wouldn't be whining about it several months later. Pointing out this vid isn't going to improve your sales that much.
Other film makers would have taken everything he said and run with them to either fix the current project, or to use on future projects.
You got a gift that most movie makers would love and you are whining about it and calling it unfair. Seriously think about it and find the positive in it, I think that is something Ronnie has been telling you for a while now.

I dug it up because PO referenced the infamous incident two days ago during his Fez-confronting appearance and when I revisited the audio I was reminded of how epic it was. If you listen to it again I think it illustrates what a radio-savvy good sport he was for going along with and fuelling the bit.
