I was really missing Earl the last few weeks.

Then he called in today, and it ended. He's a boring dude.

I can't say that I was really missing Earl, but the show has been missing something since he left.

His call in the other day solved that problem for me. I think they should contact him every once in a while just to remind us what we are missing.

I think he came to a tough decision and was backed into a corner,partly of his own making. But ultimately the outcome for the show is GOOD when if he had stayed it would still today be still BAD. Earl is married to the show and somehow will re-join,I predict in some capacity,at least working for Ron. If Earl has to avoid Fez and others on staff(minimized edgy nerves) by not being around much,then so be it. He has always had some value to RF show,so there is a reason he lasted so long. If Earl was stepping aside for Mooch or Dave or an as yet un-named Exec Producer on purpose,I can accept that. Even if Earl was not well thought out quitting,his timing was right. In his mind he was probably taking a sacrifice move to give up the main job,but retain the Bennington shows. Maybe he thought Ron could and would make that happen for him as a personal favor. I've come to the conclusion that all the members of the show are simply there as fodder for Ron's wit. No one could survive in radio without him (although the Special Delivery show was pretty good this weekend). In that sense, I miss Earl for what he provided as a scapegoat to Ron and sometimes Dave.
