im not a fan of pop tarts, they are dry and chalky for my taste. but a smore pop tart toasted every once in a while is ok.

I concur. I think that there's some kind of fat/lard in the crust that needs to be heated to enjoy. Otherwise there's a greasy texture and aftertaste on the palette (the kind you get from bad microwave popcorn).
