This is such a HORRIBLE fuckin idea. The original is a great, one of my fav movies from when I was a child.....
Gore Verbinski to Direct CLUE remake.......... (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=53222)
Universal Pictures has attached Gore Verbinski ("Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise) to develop Clue (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=53227), a live-action murder mystery based on the Hasbro board game that he would direct, reports Variety.
Verbinski will produce through his Universal-based Blind Wink company, along with Hasbro's Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir, who also have an overall deal at the studio.
Verbinski will next direct Bioshock (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=44823) for Universal.
"Clue" is one of the few board games to surpass $1 billion in sales, in more than 50 markets. It was developed in England by a retired legal clerk named Anthony Pratt during WWII and released in 1948.
A previous film version was released in 1985.
Clue (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=53227) will be turned into a mystery that Blind Wink's Jonathan Krauss called "A global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."

Wasnt the original one also loaded with like different endings too? I ask cause I never saw the movie but I remember people at the time it came out raving about it.
It is also scary that we cant even wait 30 years before we go remaking movies. And the other item of note in there is that they will be making Bioshock into a movie...I am feeling 50/50 about that. LOVED that game, but sometimes games dont translate well into movies.

You should check it out Doogie. It was entertaining, and had multiple endings.
They are trying to remake it, and make it a "serious" mystery movie. What a bunch of garbage.

This is part of Hollywoods deal with Hasbro. Just wait till Candyland The Movie comes out.
No, I'm not kidding. They are destroying all memories of our youth.

Universal Pictures is sweet on "Candy Land."
Studio has set Etan Cohen to write and Kevin Lima to direct a live-action feature based on the enduring Hasbro board game.
Project is the first film to emerge from the deal U made last February with Hasbro, whose properties are the basis for the summer tentpole films "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."
The tyke-friendly board game isn't as obvious an inspiration for a movie project as those other Hasbro brands, but the studio has tapped talent adept at comedy and family fare.
Lima most recently directed the Amy Adams starrer "Enchanted" after helming the animated features "Tarzan" and "102 Dalmatians." Cohen's recent script work includes "Tropic Thunder" and "Madagascar 2," and he most recently rewrote "The Fiance," the Burr Steers-directed romantic comedy that will star Anne Hathaway.

Don't forget the Monopoly movie coming out. Gonna totally be as awesome and fun as the game. ......by Ridley Scott none-the-less.
http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/11/12/ridley-scott-locked-into-directing-a-monopoly-movie/
Way back in August of last year, Ridley Scott mentioned (http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/08/06/ridley-scott-talks-a-monopoly-movie/) that he was interested in pursuing a film version of the board game Monopoly. At the time we all shrugged it off as just early talk, but now it looks like it's happening. Scott confirms via Hollywood Reporter that he's now officially attached to direct, however many years from now that will be, and has taken on Pamela Pettler (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0972040/) (of Corpse Bride and Monster House) to write the screenplay. Universal and Hasbro are both still intricately involved in making sure it turns out well, with Scott pushing for "a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic Blade Runner." Initially I might be quick to call this a terrible idea, but under further consideration, maybe I'm just missing the point?
Initially, I could imagine this kind of movie quickly showing up in Wal-Mart bargain bins being sold for $3.99, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing. What would be so damned interesting about a Monopoly movie that would make Ridley Scott, the man who brought us Alien, Blade Runner, and Gladiator, excited to direct it? There's got to be something we just didn't think about. Maybe the concept is a lot more expansive and epic than we could ever imagine. It is Monopoly, there are a lot of imaginative ideas that can grow out of a simple board game. Previously Scott said, "somewhere in [the fun of the game] is a hysterically amusing and I think rather exciting film." I really hope he's right about that.

Hopefully they find someone comparably talented to the great Madeline Kahn. Someone really good, a true comedic talent with range to spare...someone like, I don't know, Kristen Wiig!!

If she regains her figure, you KNOW this part will go to Jessica Simpson.
This will have all the artistic merit of the Black Honeymooners.
