Virtue

When is the last time you ever heard the term "virtue" being used in any context, besides in philosophy? I can't even think when I ever saw someone with virtue, let alone true virtue, or acting out virtuously. I have recently have been trying to figure if i can even act virtuously.

Can someone be virtuous in today's world without looking like someone who knows what's good for all, without looking like a know-it-all?

Guy I worked with was all concerned about his daughter's "virtue". He talked about it all the time..she was 18 and wanted to go away to Vermont on a ski trip. He insisted on going along (I was convinced by now, that he was touching her). They ditched him at the first rest stop.

Really got a chuckle when I heard it.
Especially since he told me that he was going to get on the bus and pronounce that there would be no Sex, drinking, or drugs in his condo..I told him that he would get killed if he did that.

I think if you're doing something, or behaving in a way you consider to be virtuous, then you shouldn't give two fucks about looking like a know it all.

I think that if you are being virtuous..you don't go around broadcasting it.
