I saw a report on this that said that the guy taping this, talking about "consensus", isn't even a NYU student. He goes to some liberal arts college in Pennsylvania. Which makes him doubly douchy in my opinion.
I hated that one bitch who got brought in screaming about "THEY PUT THEIR HANDS ON ME!" Look, you stupid rich cunt, those cops had every right to just walk out there and taze your stupid asses into unconsciousness. Fuck her.

The chick who looks half-Asian is decent enough looking, but the taller whiter one is not attractive. If you go back and look at my comments on celebrities and women in general, I'm not the kind of guy who trashes Lindsay Lohan for the sake of tearing down someone who's generally accepted as pretty. I don't see it in the other one, especially not anything remotely resembling Nicole Kidman.

a lot of misplaced energy here (http://takebacknyu.com/) (their website)
their demands were interesting, i guess all the good ones were taken ... but, never really understood the anti-isreal sentiment among college kids (in 2003 -- rachel corrie, 23 years old from the state of Washington, was killed while she was trying to prevent Israeli army bulldozers from destroying a Palestinian home a)
Demand #1, of course, is "amnesty for all parties involved in the protest." After that, they also require a full and annual reporting of the university's operating budget, expenditures and endowment; tuition stabilization for all students; and public access to the Bobst Library. They're also demanding that NYU offer 13 scholarships annually to students from the Gaza Strip and give surplus supplies to the Islamic University of Gaza.

$50k is not much in NY, especially when you factor in living expenses in one of the nicest parts of town with a good education, remember its a private school.
There are plenty of schools that are close to that but students wont get the cultural experience of being in NY, we have school loans close to that and that was for a far less prestigious school.

there's nothing wrong with that, except the fact that the whole protest was so disjointed that someone actually had to go ask around. however, you knew that was par for the course when their first demand is "welp we don't have the conviction to stand up for what we're protesting for"
half the people were looking to get laid, half the people were looking to say "no, fuck YOU dad"
the whole thing was ill conceived and they apparently thought it would have been a big standoff and when you think about it asking someone to stay out isn't a sufficient barricade

There's a big problem with claiming you want to democratically decide things while you are OCCUPYING a building. A more extreme example would be holding a gun to someone's head and demanding they vote their conscience.

ok, just looked here (http://collegeprowler.com/fordham-university/) and it's 34k +11-15k to dorm.

Harvard with room and board is less than 50K...more importantly I cannot believe that I am arguing about whether $50,000 a year for college is expensive. Not only is it expensive it is offensive. There is no reason in a country as wealthy as this one that a kid should have to start a career $200,000 in the hole or by accident of birth have enough to pay it up front.

So every kid in America should go to college? Wouldn't that already make college pretty worthless? Oh wait, that already happened.
Of course $50k is expensive. I just thought NYU would have been more, so it doesn't seem that pricey to me. College is expensive. Going to college in NYC is even more expensive.
Also, Harvard with room and board is less than 50k. But your parents better have donated several hundred thousand dollars before you turn 15 if you even begin to think you have a shot to get in.

harvard also has an obscene endowment and could let all their students go there for free and have virtually no impact from it.

Ok you have to remember where NYU is, that is some of the most expensive real estate in the world, fuck those kids are getting a deal on housing. Just like housing, education is not a right, you have to sacrifice to get a degree, its not fucking high school and if tuition gets lowered any more we will get even shittier professors.
