I was referring to the plethora of spoon threads. Your point has been made and heard. Polluting the forums with the same stuff over and over again isn't really fun.

I'll be honest. I have some issues with the infraction, and they will be discussed internally. It really doesn't help matters that spoon's response to Jon's admonishment in that thread was a personal attack, but that's another story.

He said he gave spoon 3 points for 3 different things, but just did it at once to save time. Once you have 3 points, you have to wait 10 days til they expire before you can post again

I think it's an part of the system. Three infractions (or in this cas a three point infraction) defaults to a 10 day period.

As I understand it, 3 infraction points only prevents you from posting, but you can log in and send PMs, etc. When you're banned, you can't even log in. Also, it only appears as "on vacation" when you are banned.

I'm pretty sure it's fixable. I have no idea how though. Of course we can always reverse infractions after any time period we want.

The mods and admins can always end it early by reversing the infractions, as was done in this case. I don't think it really has been used that often. Usually warnings or 1 or 2 infractions are given, and if the behavior occurs, a banning is given.

Thank you as well sir. And allow me to say I am pleased the infractions were reversed. I feel a few of us are still bothered by how bannings and infractions are used in an axe grinding manner, but clearly a few of you felt that way on this issue as well.

Actually, if I recall correctly, you can customize an infraction to be any length of time you want to, to be as short as an hour. I gave Kevin a 1 point infraction for his shitty grammar and set it it to expire after a few hours.

Just looked at the initial page. The 10 days doesn't seem to be adjustable, at least not before it's given.

I was going to continue it, but I didn't want Boss to think he's getting an infraction for something.

You can choose custom infraction.

The mods can select to make the infraction a "warning." If it's a warning, I don't believe it goes to the three point maximum. If it's not a warning, it's a true infaction and if you get three within a period, then your posting privileges are revoked.

yeah while I do understand the width restrictions on the one hand I also think that it is a bit small cause not only is the average screen wider but when you set your signature to be in center or aligned on the right it basically appears much further over the screen anyway.

Your sigs can't be bigger than 300 x 100. That means not longer than 300 regardless of height, and not higher than 100 regardless of length.
