I couldn't find the raw clip of a his statements, just a quick soundbite mixed in with this CNN commentary. I think that a lot of people are more honest about race than the ever have been given the ability to vent semi-anonymously on the internet, yet we are still very wary to express our true feeling about race in our day-to-day interactions. What say you?

We have become a nation of cowards, in general.
But ok...On the race front: We are afraid of a cartoon.
We have become a nation of cowards, in general.
Are you referring to the pussification of America? The pussification of America?

Kudos to CNN for actually addressing race in America in the story. Sadly, I predict that'll be the only story that actually discusses race, while all other segments will be devoted to pro-wrestling in suits

If by discuss race you mean make monkey jokes regarding earl, then yes, the internet has empowered people to say things to people they never would in their actual lives.
When it comes to the issue of race, we are a nation of children.

Here is just another excuse to discriminate against whitey.
We have become a nation of cowards, in general.
But ok...On the race front: We are afraid of a cartoon.
But a cartoon of a dead chimp symbolizing the president isn't a real racial discussion. It is name-calling.
I am not saying the cartoon shouldn't have been published, but it isn't the most cutting of political satire.

I only skimmed through the first few lines of the article but what I got from it is that he's upset that we don't hang out outside of work with our coworkers because of their race ?
I can tell you there are plenty of people I work with, as white as me, that I don't ever wanna see outside of the walls of our workplace.

He sounds right to me too.
Here in the South, but probably elsewhere too, it's not really polite to talk about race. My wife's co-workers always whisper he word black when they talk about black people, like that helps.

When it comes to the issue of race, we are a nation of children.
Every so often, the pot gets stirred and the issue becomes widely discussed.
At those times I think we take bigger steps forward as a society, and I think that was Holder's intent - to get people talking.
Racial bigotry has held this country back from being the nation we should be.
It divides us and creates hostility needlessly and therefore weakens us as a nation.
