Could be good. Maybe not. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090217/en_nm/us_nin_1)

Nine Inch Nails will tour later this year with the reunited Jane's Addiction, NIN frontman Trent Reznor wrote in a post on the band's Web site. Although he stopped short of saying the band was going on something more than a hiatus, Reznor confirmed that these will be the last NIN shows for some time, and that they will be "much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted" compared with last year's "Lights in the Sky" tour. "It's time to make NIN disappear for a while," he said.
Dates have not yet been announced, but Reznor said the tour will take the bands "across the globe."

That Jane Says song was on in my buddies car today.
Does anyone like Janes Addiction at all? I've never liked one of their songs.

NIN portion will be undoubtedly great.

Loved JA back in the day. And I always keep my eye on whatever NIN are doing. I'll spend the money on this combo.

Jane's Addiction has always been hit or miss for me. This tour has the potential to be pretty cool. I saw NIN way back when with Marilyn Manson opening (before anybody knew who they were... most of the crowd was like 'who is this clown'?)... I bet NIN will still put on a good live show, but I can see JA being more of a parody of themselves. Perry Farrell has gotten way out there over the years.

The only Jane's Addiction I've truly enjoyed was their first album - the live "XXX" album. I enjoy every song on that album to the fullest extent.

I was never a HUGE Jane's Addiction fan, but the performance they put on when they reunited for Lollapalooza a few years ago made me a fan for life. Some of it was the music, a lot was the atmosphere (a light rain started mid set, dozens of dirty, wet, X'd up teens all around).

NIN was great when I saw them in 95 when they opened for Bowie.

This is a must see for me, as long as the ticket prices aren't insane.

"I reached out to Jane's to see if they'd want to join us across the US and we all felt it could be a great thing," NIN frontman Trent Reznor wrote in a message posted yesterday (2/16) at his group's website..

the original band reunited last in 2001. I saw them and it was unfucking believable. then the formed up again in 2003 with chris cheney on bass, and i was able to that line up too and it was great. That was the last time they played was lollapalooza.

Note from Eric
February 19, 2009 0 Comments

it started with a brief email. we had done the NME show a week or so earlier. it was an old friend of janes addiction; past present and future. he said (i just opened the actual email so i can quote it),

"Hey Eric - Fun set the other nite... I was wondering if you had some time to get together for a chat about the future..... I would love to have some direct straight communication if at all possible Let me know if we can chat or meet up sometime in the next few weeks."

the word FUTURE stuck out immediately to me. the idea of janes addiction and the future. it resonated with me for two days before i returned his email. two more days later we met for a couple hours over coffee. i laid out my fears about stepping back in and he addressed them reasonably.

we spoke of not wanting to go do a bloated version of something we had done a long time ago. that the only way to go forward was to take it back. way back. to the beautiful dark spirit that got the whole story started. get in fighting shape. play some small clubs. try to write some new material.

there was even talk of trent at that point. someone with skill, cred, and a creative opinion that would garner respect from all of us. someone that might be able to wrangle the unruly clash of personalities if we tried to do some more recording. but that seemed conceptual. someone like trent.

hes busy doing his own thing. but a few days later i called our old friend again, "how real is the possibility of it being trent?" the reply was,"very real." i found the possibility of it exciting. i was feeling excited about janes? what would a new song sound like? i started putting down some ideas. felt some good creative momentum. tried to get the ball rolling. but history being the precedent, interpersonal band relations immediately soured and we almost fucked it all away without getting it off the ground.

they convinced me to put away the idea of new songs and just play some shows let everyone get some good mojo going before trying to record anything again. ok. la cita. el cid. alright try again. trent is in. try to write/record with him followed by a tour. the opportunity to work with Trent and his team: alan moulder, atticus ross. they deliver in spades. there is much to be learned from them. but janes manages to almost implode again. so again, the answer is hit the road play some shows and see if we can keep it together and get some good mojo going.

nine inch nails. janes addiction. original lollapalooza. it makes perfect conceptual sense. nine inch nails will challenge us nightly to bring out our best. i consider it a challenge of the best kind. we will finish on our feet or die trying. but then i should let the boys speak for themselves. im eric. bass player.

She's in his band Sattellite Party, and was one of his dancers from the 97 relapse tour, and was on the 2001, and 2003 tours, so chances are she'll be their too. She was a fantastic rack though.

I saw Jane's Addiction at The Ritz in 92 or 92ish.. The Ritual tour. The HATED each other and it showed. Better yet, it came out in the music. Best God Damn show I have still ever seen. NIN were terrific, and seeing Hurt performed live is one of the greatest concert experiences you can have. JA was OK...the music was great but Perry was all over the map and his voice was a little weak. Killer version of Jane Says to close the set though.

BTW, it was fucking COLD out there.

NIN/JA at the beach...what a great night. Hells yes it was cold, I was at the Tuesday Phish show at JB and I prepared for possible cold with a jacket and I was hot all night, so there I was sunday night in shorts and a T shirt. DUMBASS!

We were in the furthest corner of the mezzanine section and it was cold and ugly there...I had to cover up with a plastic poncho to keep warm. My wife got a text from a buddy she reconnected with on Facebook who was also at the show. This guy has a brother who is a big-wig at livenation and he got us tickets way down in dead center of the lower stadium, where it was MUCH warmer. Oh, and way funner, no one was standing in the mez seats, no one was sitting in the stadium seats.

NIN was fun, Janes was just amazing. I never got to see them and that was what I was looking forward to. Perry's voice is still amazing. I thought at some points he was toning his voice down several octaves, but then he goes up to the shrill we know and love.

The new bassist looks like Will Ferrell!
