Eastbound and Down is the first TV show in a VERY long time that made me laugh out loud. I had belly laughs while watching the pilot episode. The shit at the dining room table had me in stitches.

If you just watched the second episode then its not as big a deal, the first one is the best and has danny's writing style all over it, hopefully ferrel wont step in with his ideas too much since most of the time his humor just misses the mark for me. The only thing he ever did that made me laugh were the cheerleading skits and singing couple skit on snl, oh and some of old school was funny.

EB&D is an all-or-nothing show for people. Either it hits you or it doesn't. I sometimes feel like Ron and Fez are like that with some people - although I dare anyone to listen for a week and try and tell me they are not a fan of the show.

HBO has renewed the comedy series "Eastbound & Down" for a second season. Production on the new episodes will begin this year for a 2010 premiere.
The series, exec produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, had a slow start, drawing 671,000 viewers and a 0.3 adults18-49 in its Feb. 15 premiere. But just like Alan Ball's vampire drama "True Blood" last year, it grew steadily throughout its six-episode run, netting some 950,000 viewers on March 14.

"Eastbound & Down's raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season, HBO's West Coast chief Michael Lombardo said.
"Eastbound" stars Danny McBride as Kenny Powers, a star pitcher until his self-destructive behavior knocked him out of major league baseball. He returned home to North Carolina to teach phys ed at the middle school he once attended, but eventually scored another big-league job offer.

"Eastbound" is exec produced by Ferrell, McKay, Chris Henchy, Jody Hill, McBride and Ben Best.
